Body Mount Bushing Install - now with pictures! And a video too!!!

I'm running the kit bushings up front now, they're a little softer. I tightened them very firmly by hand with 1/4" ratchet from below, and a 3/8" drive ratchet from top with several extensions.

 

hey guys so where exactly do I jack from to do the radiator bushings? Will I need to remove my pelfrey bumper?

 

My buddy and I just did this to my truck. Check you warsher size on the eight big washers, they need to be 1/2 inch. Or you can take an unexpected trip to ACE like we did.

Great write up! Quick question, the radiator support bushings are to replace the factory bushings pictured below correct?

 

Wrong ones. It's the ones holing the radiator core support to the frame.

 

You pretty much had your hand up against the bushing that gets replaced to take this photo lol

Well this is fun...got my 8.4109 kit and the washers and sleeves were never reemed so my cab bolts wont slide through. Anyone else have this issue? I'm going to reem them myself but this blows.

 

Left front? Could be the heavy battery and age causing that. Mine came right out. Pull the battery and use some intimidation. Should pop out.

 

My bad...The issue isnt getting the bolt out. I got the wrong ID sleeves and washers from Energy Suspension. Here I am with a drill and a bit reeming them out. 2 washers down, 6 to go. Truck has to move tomorrow. Im not waiting on Amazon or Energy Suspension. Already talked to ES and got a "Huh, thats weird. Your 8.blah blah blah kit is correct for your make and model though."

Well shit...Take note anyone who shops Amazon, you run the possibility of this issue. Im one of the lucky few

 

Mine were too small. I called them and informed the engineer what I received and what the measurement needed to be. Then I drilled them out to match the bolts.

 

Might be the older batch, before the update.

 

Yeah thats where I'm at now. Everything is drilled but its 20 degrees outside and I'm out of light. I'll have it done before noon tomorrow.

 

That would make sense but it shows ES isn't pulling them back to fix the issue prior to shipping it to customers. I'll probably drop a note to Amazon.

 

Good job. As well as it'd be quite helpful to potential buyers, with your note. That they may or may not run into a tolerance issue.
