It was still putting up resistance when it stripped. The other one only broke loose at the very end, before it came out.

So it's just turning in place? or the head is rounded?

The bolt is stuck still, and the head is rounded pretty good.

    Couple options then.

Make sure to get some penetrating oil real good in there, see if you can squirt some up inside on the nut/bolt (under the mount). Maybe screw it back in if you can and get a wire brush on the bolt from under (if its accessible, I don't remember), crank the cab up, being careful not to tip it over or over extend any wiring, grind the bolt head on the sides to get a wrench on it to give it a good tug. Or grind a line down the middle and get a thick flat head screwdriver on it.

I used the universal bushings, which are larger and gave away the kit bushings, so I'm not positive. I think you can though.

    I appreciate the advice!
I ended up filing the edges of the bolt to try and square it up, then jacked up the truck enough to get a socket on it. Then very slowly loosened it off the remainder.

Time to run to the nuts and bolts store to get another

I flipped my bushings because I heard others had good results...I did not. My hood didnt shut right (flopped) and I cracked my drivers side headlight mount. Got new headlights and reversed the bushings...hood shuts like a dream and the front feels way better.

The quote below may be the answer

Ted, did you flip the other 4 bushings too?

Negative. I installed everything as meant to be...which is how others (according to this thread) did it as well.

Lets face it. We love our Toyotas. But everyone of them is different with strange quirks and the occasional work shortcuts that somehow work with aftermarket parts...its up to the driver/owner to decide what the truck likes....or beat the truck into submission as I have.

Thanks, i installed the new tires today and to my surprise they didn't rub i was almost positive they will so i ordered a 1"spacer from headstrong for the front and was going to flip mounts

Might use that spacer down the road when 882s wear out and sag a bit, but for now im happy i dont have to lift it any higher

I have the universal kit and I'm about to install them. This ^ is what I want to avoid, also heard of the radiator fan hitting the fan shroud.
Can't get a real answer about what bushing to put on the top........ big or small ? after reading the threads seems like there is so many pros and cons for each method I am confused now.

I went small up top and did away with the top washer. No squeaks.

I just finished up the front "radiator" universal bushings! The ride is so much quieter now. Thanks everyone for the info and pictures to make this an easy upgrade. Of note, I run a Pelfreybilt steel plate bumper and I put the smaller of the two bushings on top and I still have similar clearances around the fenders as I did with the stock bushings.

hey can anyone confirm that running the thicker bushings on top will work? Just curious, and did you guys run the radiator mounts flipped, the body mounts, or both? I am curious for when I do my install soon.

I installed mine with the thicker bushing on top to give me 1/2" of body lift to better clear my sliders (the pinch weld knocked on them, which was really annoying). If you do that, you'll need the universal bushing kit to get the correct about of lift from the radiator support bushings. I think I had to mix and match between the universal set and the ones that come with the cab mount kit to get the correct thickness.

Oh, and don't overtighten the cab mount bolts, you'll get knocking noises over harsh bumps if you do...
