Before I started welding I had a shop do the CMC for me. When I threw in the 35s it was painfully lacking. I have ground the cab mount back enough to not touch it under compression while turning but the mount looks unsafe. Can wait to put these in. I do currently rub the fender wells at compressed lock pretty good but at least that doesn't chew up the tires and a hammer will take care of that. My mounts had a delay along the way (by the USPS) so I won't get them untill tomorrow. I don't think I'll have time to put them in cause I'm going to KY for 6 weeks next Sat. Will have to wait. It will all be worth it in the end!

I hear what you're saying. I got a deal (free) on military DOT beadlocks that I couldn't pass up. However, the backspacing on these wheels gave me major interfearance with the UCA's and frame at lock. I had to put a .75 spacer on the front wich pushed the outer edge of the tire into the CM even under a mild turn. I'm uncomfortable with The amount of cutting I had to do on the CM to clear the tires so I want something new in there that's out of the way and structurally sound. This kit will not interfear with my current sliders, which I need to replace, because I need a kickout to protect my rear axle. I won't have an issue modifying new sliders to fit. I'm confident this setup will work for me.

Curious as to how sliders protect an axle. Can you elaborate?

Well, at 6k+lbs loaded out my truck is pretty heavy and my tires stick out much farther than my sliders. If I smash a large rock that my tire can't go over all that impact is going to push that side of the axle rearward (think slick slope you slide down) I would rather have a kick out take brunt and push my tire clear.

Housing. Got it. I'd rather go over a rock than get kicked out but where I wheel it usually would put your other tire in a fuckered spot too so that plays into it for me.

Same. But a rock you might go over at low speed could fucker you up at a few miles per hour (sliding, brakes applied). I don't wheel alone and if getting kicked out into an awkward possition puts me into a bad spot I'm not above asking for a line

I just don't see my rear end as a point of strength. It compresses and droops like a dream but I guess I don't trust the little bolts that hold it all together:confused:

Yeah, going at them with speed is a whole other beast. My comment was in the context of going pretty slow.

Do these go back to the point where they might interfere with sliders?

@glorifiedwelder you're near Santa Clarita right? Do you think you could install some thing like this?

It depends on the sliders. I think it would interfear with many of the bolt on types but not a lot of the weld one ones. Mine are Stubbs weld on, and don't even come close to interfearing. That being said it would be pretty easy to trim sliders to fit.

There's no interference with the SOS bolt-ons. Quite a bit of space actually.IMG_3299.jpg @EddyRRT

That’s pretty close. Might fit by a hair. Might have to trim a bit
