Any recs for a shop in the Northeast-ish Bay (Berkeley/Oakland or reasonably close) that has experience straightening frames?

Dude creamed my truck while it was parked (he definitely got the worst of it since he ended up upside down), busted the driver side rear leaf springs and bent the frame.

He has State Farm, and I’m in their queue, but don’t trust them to get me into a shop that actually knows what they’re doing.

I glanced through the Norcal Trusted Vendors + Help thread, but that seems to mostly deal with mechanical and custom work.

    Any thoughts are appreciated!

You have the right to go to any shop you want. Would not wait for the other party's carrier.

First thing, you're gonna need an estimate to repair. More than likely, they will total the truck--just guessing at that. I would make an inventory of anything you've installed, like the camper shell, bull bar, any audio gear, stuff like that. Next, gather prices for your truck--Kelly Blue Book, for sale ads (the more local, the better)--do this so you know what your truck is worth if it's totalled. Also, you can almost be sure the bed was pushed into the cab--damage that might not be immediately visible.

Don't know any shops in the east bay. Maybe others do.

    Probably too late.

Some insurance does not reimburse or "cap" the aftermarket changes as well. It is also depending how much the other party subscribed to ... you may have a maximum $ cap: insurances excel at BS'ing. Fight for every penny and fight for full responsibility of the other party. (keep trace of every exchanges - do not hesitate to send a recap email for some of the discussions / agreements => "si vis pacem, para bellum")

Ian408 is spot on regarding frame/cab damage you cannot see. Time also to hope you have all the needed receipts.

Good luck with all the process ... it is a (long) pain. You are the victim (reminder them that often!) but you will have to deal with a lot unfortunately.
