So I backed into a tree and had a Local body shop fix my truck. They did some work on the bedside and replaced the taillight but there is a slight gap where the it meets the body of the truck. I took it back and they told me this is the best they can get it but the tail light doesn’t quite sit flush like it used too. It’s minor but I do notice it.

I took the tail light off and tried to re adjust it but it moves back and creates a gap once I tighten the bolts that hold it in place.

my question is does anyone know if there is a way to get it to sit flush? Is there a way to adjust the back bedside panel? They had to re paint my bedside and I know the removed they back panel. I guess I’m just looking for a solution here. If nothing can be done I guess I can live with it but it bugs me.

they used an OEM tail light to replace the damaged one so I don’t think it’s the light but maybe something slightly off.

Loosen up the lower bolt and push in on the taillight while tightening, do the same for the top. Best you’ll get.

Then it looks like it’s the best it’s gona get. I’m just bummed it’s an OEM taillight and it’s not as flush as the other side.

it’s snaps in and it’s perfectly flush but as soon as I tighten the bolts it produces a small gap from the body.

Yeah, fit and finish one these trucks isn’t that great to start with..and then especially when you start adding trees/light poles to the mix, ask me how I know. It also may be the light, but my factory drivers side light does the same thing.

I guess you could shim the other side so it doesn't fit flush with washers. That way it could look more uniform.

maybe I’m just being picky I will say it looks good and the only reason I notice is because I know it had work done in that area.

Yes I can drive just fine just got caught in a tight spot and should have been paying more attention is all. All I was asking is if there way a way to adjust that taillight inwards a tiny bit more.
