Greetings all, somehow I overlooked the regional ID forum, maybe it's because it was lumped into the Northwest.

Like the title says, who do you trust in the Boise/Meridian area for work you can't do yourself? Things like alignments, AC work, general advice. I'm growing a little weary of throwing money at companies for diagnostic stuff and either feeling ripped off or not getting a truthful assessment. I won't mention names. :)

Second, I have a first gen steering rack sitting on the bench I just replaced with a new OEM, is there anyone in the area I can trust to do a rebuild at a reasonable price? I originally asked this in the first gen forum and got a pretty wide thread drift with no answers. :-D At that time I still hadn't done the rack, but it drives like new now and would hate to see the old rack go to waste.

I am wondering this also! I've got several Tacomas in the family to watch over but no preferred shop to take them to.

Sorry, haven't been coming back to this one due to no response for a few months. I've been through three and was not happy with any of them, as soon as they hear I did the work myself it's like they want me outta there. :-D I could keep trying but not really into throwing $$$$ away.

    Dealer, use Ed Mark.

Tried a few private shops and they screwed a couple things up, which cost me twice. They weren’t that much cheaper (if at all) than the dealer either

They warranty everything, if there is an issue, can always run it up the chain of corporate unlike a private shop. Sure you’ll pay a little more, but it is “usually” done right.

Used to work on all my own stuff, but I am over it, even let them do oil changes…which was hard at first.

Thank you! I'll give it a shot, have some AC issues I just don't want to deal with. :-\
