I had bolt on aliders in NE ohio on my Xterra for the entire 16 years i owned it. Never had that sort of issue . If you look online or TW hard enough, you'll stop breathing air because it doesnt say "overland" on it and isn't bright orange.

Welded on a goose neck hitch in the bed of an F250 to only find out that later that we could have fried the computer and that we should have just bolted it on. Soooo…any concern that welding could fry the computer?

I completely agree. I personally want to be able to remove mine to resurface and paint when necessary.

Disconnect the battery when welding on the truck.

Bolt on sliders for the win! I bought some last year. Yes- I'll get sediment/debris between the frame and the slider. I pulled them off once to repaint. Not a deal breaker or even an issue really. They are super solid. IMG_20220711_180831.jpg

Several companies make "no drill" sliders. The frame has plenty of existing holes to run a bolt through.

He’s asked me if I want full round tubing or some square tubing. Here’s an example he sent me what do you all think? I’ll go with 20 to 25 degree angle and a kick out

    It's got some Mods
I've had mine welded on for now for about 7 years and they are showing some wear. If I could do it again I would go with bolt on. I've been putting off repainting them because I'm not looking forward to the hassle of masking everything off. If they were bolt on I could simply remove them and give them a proper paint job much easier.
