M6 or 1/4-20? Not sure from the looks of it. If you have a tap set you can use that to check the size of the hoe and thread pitch.

is everything on Toyota metric based?
I noticed on my VW they alternated between metric and imperial for a lot of parts which was a royal pain in the ass lol.

So for my tool set to keep in the taco, would be safe to just carry metric sockets and wrenches?

If you carry 10, 12, 14, and 17mm, that will cover most things on the truck aside from large suspension fasteners.

2006 and later are all made in Mexico.
I've found a bunch of parts on mine that are imperial then a bunch that are metric.

Joe, you should be like me and carry the SAE wrenches also... They are for the Chevys and Fords and Rams found along the trail... They have been very helpful in getting those guys going again... It's nice to help out guys who don't got the best equipment, like the Tacomas... hehe

I've had a few beers and lunches paid for... thanx to my SAE help at times..!

I'll likely just buy one of those stanley sets or something that canadian tire always has on sale just to keep in the truck haha.
No way in hell am I bringing any of my snap on and matco tools out of the garage onto a trail. I was lucky enough a family friend was a mechanic and when he retired gave me all his tools as payment for some electrical work I did for him lol.

Besides i like having spare sets so I don't need to move them around and always have back ups. Hell I have 4 different sets of hand tools for electrical haha. I have my actual klein tools journeyman series that I keep at work, then for around the house I have an Ideal set that I got for $80 off kijiji, and 2 years ago one of the suppliers had the sets on sale from greenlee for $150 so bought two of those.
THe pliers and some of the parts of the kit will be making their way into the taco kit.
Really not sure how suppliers can sell those whole kits for so cheap though. Pair of greenlee or Klein pliers alone are usually $60 then side cutters are another $50. All together if you were to buy each part with all the different screwdrivers it gives you and then the different pliers those kits are well over $500.
Actually going to need to buy a new pair of kleins for work soon. Old ones are really starting to show their age. Can't cut a damn thing anymore haha.

Sounds like you are well outfitted...! Just throw a few of the "extra" ones in yer Taco... Maybe you can help rescue a Ford someday..!!
Don't forget the tow straps also...!!
