The last bolt in the smittybilt mount I have on my camper shell will not come out. It is attached into the tracks on the shell and screwed into one of those mounting plates that slides into the track. The bolt will spin but not loosen. I tired using brute force by shoving a screw driving underneath it and nothing seems to be working. Any help appreciated! 5234700F-3B5E-47D8-9569-03119B89EE93.jpg

Looks like a tight spot to try anything I say angle grinder and a trip to the hardware store for a new bolt

Does that rail have an end cap? Can you remove the end cap and slide the bracket off?

    Then just cut the bolt.

The bolt will not move up and down the rail

Can you use a punch and a mallet to "pop" the portion inside the rail to free it up?

Very weird, spinning without loosening implies stripped but you'd be able to feel that. Can you get ahold of the mounting plate with vise grips...?

Can you Dremel the top of the bolt off? Once you do that if you aren’t trying the save the part it is within, than just try and Dremel that piece left in half. May take a while and have to be removed in pieces but it should work hopefully.

Angle grinder on the bolt. Angle grind the 2 sides left and right of the tab. Pull the remaining bits of the tab out.
