    3” lift
Hi, I have a 2022 Tacoma TRD Off-Road. The Toyota dealership put a 3” lift on it but won’t give me any info for putting my TRD front skid plate back on. What bolts can I buy to put it on myself? Or do I really need to go to a custom shop? Thank you

They didn’t give you the bolts back?
Are we taking a real skid or the sheet metal factory splash pans?

They almost didn’t even give me the skid plate back because, ‘It won’t fit so why do you want it?’

They said it won’t fit because it was on the truck before the 3” lift was put on.
They wouldn’t tell me if that meant that the plate wouldn’t fit, or the bolts wouldn’t fit, or both.

That makes zero sense. Sounds like someone wanted it for themselves.

I think I would stay away from that stealership.

I will go one step further. Makes me wonder if the dealership did the 3” lift correctly if the skid plate truly won’t fit.

I would get under your truck and line up the skid plate with the holes. If the holes line up I think you want 12 MM bolts.

Check out post #5 on this link.

What lift? Did those goons put on a drop bracket lift? Or was it a suspension lift?

The diff drop likely interferes with it.

Most kits dont come with the diff spacers as it doesnt help anything and only causes issues.

    Remove diff drop reinstall plate.

Next problem, did they give you the old bolts for the front diff?

Here’s my experience with a lift and skid plate. Hope this helps.
Bought the Amazon version of the TRD skid plate (LOSTAR). While installing it, noticed it would not fit due to interference with the diff drop kit.
Option 1: remove the diff drop kit- I didn’t want to do this as the truck is riding perfectly smooth and don’t want to chance messing up any angles that have been adjusted.
Option 2: Buy longer bolts (cannot remember the length, maybe 90mm and a few nuts to act as extra spacers)
I went with option 2. Hangs down maybe an extra 3/4” but at least it’s on.

the only way it wont fit, is if they put a drop bucket lift....

or....they put a diff drop kit. that lowers your diff and it hits your skid plate.
