    Hello,

I just purchased a 2015 Tacoma (had a '97 B-4000 before). I noticed there are 6 torx bolts in the bed. They look odd because they don't match the black of the rest of the bed. Is there anything that can be done to protect them damage or rust? I couldn't find anything about protecting the bolts just installing extra d-rings.

Sounds good. I thought about taking them out and spraying some black paint on them. Guess I will hit them with a coat of anti-seize too. I didn't know if sliding gear in and out along the top would cause the heads to wear flat over time. Any idea of the torx size, I don't think I have one that big.

Exactly..... OP, while you have them out...install some d-rings. ;)

I never painted my bolts and haven't seen any issues with rust yet. I'm not exactly sure what they're made of, but they appear to have a special treatment. They're not just a standard painted 'steal'
