Boomer's "faux" TRD Pro shift knob illumination mod(Tacoma and Tundra)

I think the MT TRD Pro shift knob is identical to the AT TRD Pro shift knob. The only difference being the shift pattern stamped in the top portion.

 

Can also fit in a Tundra.

 

Ooooo I want one. Do you sell these in ice blue/green combo with the ECT switch mod?

 

I have attempted to source a combo with ice blue but there does not seem to be any that exist. If you go to the 1st page you can see a list of what is available.
Regarding the ECT switch mod, you would have to order the wire harness from MESO. I can install the switches if you wanted to have it shipped directly to me.

Ive subscribed to get a notification for the wire harness and the shift know from MESO but sold out still. I like complicated things lol the ice blue and green combo would be sick. I’ll PM you with my 1028374637 questions.

 

Another option for the ECT mod is to just relocate it like I did. I had MESO make me a single switch holder and I ordered an ECT extension from another TW member that makes custom wire harnesses.

 

I think I’d prefer to just relocate it like you did. So, I can ask some of the questions I have here in case anybody is as totally lost like me.

1. Do I have to break anything on my OEM shifter or is there a kit that includes another one?
2. If I do have to break apart my current shifter and do some tinkering around with tools I don’t know how to use, do you have a step by step document or video?
3. Who is the the TW member that makes the wiring harnesses?

1. I provide a .pdf file with instructions for just the wire harness install into a TRD Pro shift knob and the install of the modified shift knob that I build.

2. If you do the wire harness install yourself I provide a list of tools required. If you purchase the entire shift knob mod from me all you need is a door panel removal kit(suggested) to pop the upper centre console off and pliers to crimp the "T" connector to the 2x wires that power your USB jack in the rear centre console for the single LED mod. If you purchase the 2x input LED mod you will need a length of 16-18 gauge wire to run from the shift knob wire harness up to the back of the flashing security light in the middle of the dash. This will also connect to the OEM wire harness with a small T" connector. I supply the "T" connectors.
