I must admit, another TW member thought of this quite some time ago but did not pursue it. I requested permission from him to continue and have now perfected building the wire harness and the LED install.

Any idea if this can be adapted to work on a legit pro knob? I’m not 100% sure, and too lazy to go out to my truck, but isn’t the TRD logo solid?

Yes, it absolutely can. MESO had designed and produced an opaque clip-in piece to replace the solid TRD piece and this is what I use.

Do you have any plans on selling an option that people can use on their existing knob? Maybe just the part you’re talking about with the light and harness attached? I think you’d get a lot of interest for that; I know I’d be interested in it.

    Same.

Not sure if that was Meso’s idea of a kit or not as well when he talked about it last year. I’d be in for a kit as well. Drilling would be required I assume? I’ve taken my knob apart a few times but not that piece.

Yeah 20tacom17 I think was the first I saw

Yes, the price of $50 is for the entire wire harness including the MESO opaque clip in panel.

Yes, I think MESO might have been the 1st to come up with the idea but there was another TW member that had built one using the MESO part.

Definitely interested! I hate to me asking questions, but I’m sure everyone would like to know; any directions on how to install it? A video would be even better if that’s a possibility. I personally like to know the steps involved so I know how much the odds of me screwing it up are. Lol

    What exactly is “2x input”?

No video yet. Currently a bit too cold out in Ontario for me to pull my centre console and do one.

The install for the entire shift knob kit only involves using "T" taps on the 12v power adapter harness in the centre console, then drill a small hole in the chrome snap ring for the shift knob wire(I used a hot knife) and then feed the wires through. I have made the wire harness into 3x pieces to make it easy to connect.

Gotcha. I already made the hole bigger in my chrome snap ring for the MESO stealth pro shift knob, so it sounds like I’m good to go there.

I actually have illuminated pigtails in my dash, so I’d probably just tap into those (assuming that would work).

How does the TRD piece work? Does it snap over the existing one? Do you remove the existing one and put the new one in its place?

Any drilling/cutting into the knob itself to allow for the light and harness to feed into the knob?

Edit: pretty sure I’ll be buying one; just checking all the details first

So you have a comparison picture of both the 1x and 2x output next to each other? Will you also be offering a 1x output DIY kit at any time for those that dont want the light to be too bright?
