The stock gears are 410. The accelertion lag wasnt too bad with the 35s. The 529s will put the gearing back pretty close to stock with a little highr RPM range. Im not building it for speed though :) Will be DDing it while I try to sell my 09.

Got my grille spray bombed with 3 coats of satin black on tuesday.

Got my rear 12" Bilstein 5125's and lower shock mounts in today.

Hopefully will have the rear suspension complete by the weekend.

Still have to install the new rear wheel bearings and seals and install the 3rd member with the fresh 529's/Detroit. Picked up some cheap break in Diff oil today as well.

    Going slow but making progress

Exhaust needs to be clearanced so it wont rub on the DS shock.
A little good news. found the possible reason that the AC system wont hold refrigerant. Should be an easy fix :)

    More updates:

Got the axle completely built this past weekend with some help from a few guys that stopped by the shop. Thanks guys (Ray, James, John, Dale)

This was my first experience with doing axle assembly and I can say I learned a lot.

New axle housing and lower skid

The 95 % finished shot with the 3/8" spacer installed. The shock mounts will be the last thing welded on under the truck.

    CIMG0068_a76d69f5e9b4c626d71bb1ff40ca97e764ac1854.jpg

The axle should be getting under the truck today.

Pics of the rear shock mounts:

    CIMG0061_edf42898a90954057e6a444c6e275caf7f48f2f7.jpg

All the bare metal got a shot of primer and paint as well.

We figured out what rear brake line needs to be plugged and marked it.

Rear diff armor geting burned in:
    CIMG0057_f68734c1fbc7f353fcb9278bf76b7e7867a0bdeb.jpg

I also started to install the Pacesetter Header. Probably going to plug the EGR ports with the TIG to eliminate the port plate. The holes dont line up and it looks to be the easiest fix.

The only pic I dont have is one with the bed on the truck. When we set the bed on we saw an area that needs to be trimmed that hits the bed and uper shock mount. No biggie.

Should have the axle and all 4 wheels under it today or tomorrow.

Hi Pinion is the way to go man!

    Update:

Well the red truck is rolling on all fours.
Pretty damn close to being done now.

Only major thing left is to trim the rear fenders, and install the rear axle bearings, seals.

Couple little things to get finished up. Adding diff oil, rerouting steering pump lines, e-brake, re install grille and bumpers, winch.......

    Got some updates yesterday.

The steering fluid res. bracket was fabbed to move the resi back about an inch due to the shock hoop and fender trimming. Should be trimming a little more of the inner fender for a little better access to the steering box.

Brake lines are all hooked up and charged with fluid. Steering lines are hooked up to steering box.

Looks like the coil can be mounted back pretty close to the OEM position with a little massaging of the bracket to clear the DS shock hoop.

I think we got it figured out how the air box is going back on as well. Just having to work around the little things.

Hood louvres might be on today. I think JR and Myself found the right placement on the hood.

Here are the pics of the shackle angles

Shackel angles look perfect. Is that with weight of the truck suspended on them?
