Got to wheel the red truck on its maiden shakedown at the TX Lonestar Jamboree the weekend of Jan 13-15th.

The truck did well overall for the most part.

    Here are some pics

Nothing like breaking 14 of the ring gear teeth :)

Good friends and spare parts made the weekend a blast even though the weather was crap

BTW if you have the ground and hot wire switched on the horn button, the horns will scare the shit out of you when power is added :)

I also started on Installing my RogerBrown light wiring harness but didnt get it finished up.

Frond and rear diff breathers are done. Front routed to the firewall and the rear mounted by the gas cap under the fuel door.

    haha Lone Star Beer.

Nice work so far! I'd love an old Toyota with a 22re as a toy. Then again I'd also like a go fast weekend toy too. I need to win the lottery.

I got my shifter cover mocked up and the holes drilled out last night. It will use the OEM screw holes to attach it to the transmission tunnel. I still need to cut the holes out of the shifter boots when I bring a jigsaw home from work.

Got a little done this weekend.

I cleaned/scaped/vaccumed and degreased the floorpan. Then hit it with a little rust preventative/neutralizer. Plugged up a couple small holes with some caulk.

Then I hit it with a little self etching primer and two heavy coats of bedliner in a can.

I also got my shifter plate finished, painted, installed. Wired up my Boston 6x9's anmd got them put in too. I need to figure out asome brackets to keep themn in place.

    CIMG0279_c71d6052cbc6eca85d9b439b5460fcb9216f022b.jpg

Everything thing is just about ready to put back in the truck.
I also took off the front half of my front DS so I can trim a couple inches off of it.

I even fired up Ol Red to make sure he still knew how and let him idle for a while

Made a little progress last night.

I wanted to make sure that everything was good and dry before I reinstalled the trim, interior, seats and radio. After a week I guess it is dry enough :)

The main reason I wanted to do it was to measure for the console that i want to pick up. It looks like it might just fit. I have 30 inches from the shifter cover to the rear of the cab and almost 9 inches acrosss the tranny tunnel between the seat belt latches. The console is 12 or 13 inches tall, so it is about the perfect dimension.

    CIMG0287_ffb612b9ad5b2453f54a2e6c2c0564b8ca654241.jpg

I also put a fresh coat of paint on my sliders to cover up some gouges from Gilmer. They dont look half bad painted. I cant wait to get my new ones on though.

I know its been a long time coming :)

Got some stuff accomplished last night:

Hand throttle 99% complete. I just need 1 wire crimp. One word of wisdom becareful of the positive terminal on the battery when the using any metal conductor under the hood. The inner steel cable conduct electricity good enough to create a nice arc under the hood :) and give you some nice burns on your fingers

    CB finally hard mounted :

Ill try it there first and see how in the ways it is.
