Boost Gauge

Can any recommend a good boost gauge to use with a supercharger? Please provide a pic of where you installed it. Thanks in advance!

 

Thanks Rock. I know i'm going to sound like a newbie asking this question but what's up with the boost gauge reading both + and - PSI? I'm asking because my last vehicle with boost was a 96 eclipse gst and the boost gauge in that car started at 0 if i remember correctly. It was turbo charged and not supercharged of course so maybe there is something different with the supercharger with boost that i just don't understand. I'm shopping local dealerships to get the best price for the supercharger and fit kit installed. So far $6290 is the best price i have, but still waiting to hear back from 2 dealerships.

"-" = inches Hg (Mercury) or Vacuum. Helps you determine if you have a vacuum leak. The needle will read closer to "0" on the engines when there is a vacuum leak at idle. From a starting point of around 19-21 inHg.

Rock, would you recommend getting any other performance parts installed while the dealership is installing my supercharger? Pulley's?

 

I run Autometer Phantom gauges from www.summitracing.com. The Gauge pod is from http://www.gaugepods.com/toyota_t.html Says '05-'09 but that pod fits my 2013.

Thank you rat. Looks good man! I'm pretty sure I want them pillar mount like yours.

 

I've been looking for some, too. Options are slim and seems many of the pillar mounts are the wrong color. I'd probably be better not knowing how little boost the SC makes with the crappy flash tune, it's pretty conservative and seems to dump more out the wastegate than in the intake. Still an improvement over stock though, I can actually pass people now without taking a mile of road.
An engine runs in vacuum most of the time regardless the type of forced induction(turbo or supercharged) without heavy acceleration. even when you get up to speed you won't show much boost unless heavily modified

Very nice gauges, and can daisy chain the power between gauges. Effectively you only need to wire one it versus wiring them all in. Makes life simple.

 

I don't like the ricer logo's "Tanabe" that are written on the bottom. Otherwise those would be a very nice set of digital guages.

How do you figure the analog ones CAN'T be daisy chained? They all require power to work anyways do they not?

 

Some gauges dont

Some gauges don't come with the ability to add a power jumper wire between them.Mainly those which do, have a separate controller which is also necessary to run the gauges. That is why these are nice.

No additional controller and have the power jumper ability, for ease of wiring.

Tanabe is very high quality. From sensors to exhausts and other.

 

No doubt they are a good company, but its that logo that kills a lot of my interest for them off. I haven't dealth with guages like that before, I just figured you were able to run the power to them all directly. I guess I was wrong about that.

 

Just got to carefully look at the features of the gauges under consideration. Cheap gauges use large antiquated sensors. Expensive ones will use refined compact sensors.
