doing a supercharger install on my 3.4 soon and trying to decide on a boost gauge.

definitley going with speedhut but wondering if i should do boost only gauge or boost/vac gauge?

can anyone chime in on why a boost/vac would be better than just the boost only gauge.

going to pull the trigger just need some input from actual users of boost gauges.

Vacuum gauges are most useful as either indictators of engine wear or helping you get better mpg. The higher your vacuum, the better your mpg.

Boost gauges, basically tell you that you're not over boosting and damaging your engine. Besides that it's just a little needle that wiggles around and distracts you because you should be looking out the windshield.

Your mpg is going to suck with the sc, especially in the beginning. It's going to be 99% your fault with very little to do with the sc itself.

If you go with a combo you get a little more information, if you go boost only would bet more dramatic sweeps if the needle when you're on the throttle. Just driving around you won't really be seeing any boost except when you're accelerating or otherwise feeding a lot of throttle.

My dd is twin turbo, I don't have a gauge at all. Well it does but it reads as mpg and not vacuum directly. I considered adding a boost gauge for giggles but decided it wasn't worth it.

My diesel turbo didn't have one but I did add one to it when I started tampering with the factory waste gate. Once the new wore off I really only glanced at it when I was pulling hard uphill tows. I monitored egt though as melted pistons make for a bad day.

If I was towing and only had room for 1 gauge, given the choice between vac and vac/boost I'd choose an egt.

Not towing but looking for best mpg, vacuum and skip the sc entirely.

SC and going to be driving with a heavy foot, it doesn't really matter  mpg will suck and it will be pretty obvious if your sc stops making boost. Then it's just personal preferences if I want a needle moving around.
