How close to the intake manifold is your gauge getting its reading from, and where was theirs?

They have a highly sophisticated gauge, should it have been working properly. There could be a discrepancy between your gauge and their gauge.

Which brand is yours? Is it mechanical (hose straight to gauge) or electric (hose to sender/converter)?

My wideband, for reference, is an AEM. It is in the straight portion of my exhaust, where both banks have merged, after the sensors for the Haltech. So I can reference the sensors to each other.

It follows the same numbers as those, and I have no cats. So I am curious, if yours was in the correct AFR's while theirs showed higher, or visa versa?

Which kind of sensor do you have?

Their plot of your AFR still dips low then comes back up nearly 3 point. So even if your gauge is accurate, and at the end of the rpm range, your AFR's on your gauge show in the 11's, then in the mid range you'd be in the 8's. That is assumptive, and an example. Needs to be corrected regardless.

I am curious which sensor was the accurate one though?

Thanks for the feedback. My boost gauge is a mechanical Autometer gauge that is ran off of the intake manifold Tee'd into the line that feeds to my Powersteering pump. They disconnected mine and hooked up theirs with a T on it and hooked mine up to the the T so they were seeing the same Boost/Vac signal.

My AFR gauge is a Digital AEM Gauge that has the sensor mounted in the DP where is straightens out before going into the cat. Theirs, like i mentioned, was inserted in the tailpipe. They said they could also get a reading from my gauge as well.

Most everyone I've talked with is saying that my wideband should be more accurate being pre-cat. As for the boost differences, I'm still not getting a general consensus. Does altitude have anything to do with that?

Could you elaborate on how you painted the cylinder head? I love how it looks, I want to do it on mine.

    Great build, btw.

I did it the short cut way...I bought an already powder coated Valve cover from someone here on the board. He also had a red one that he was selling as well. I had though about painting it myself, but when the powder coated one came up, I decided to go the easy route. Main thing is to clean it super well, degrease the eff out of it, and sand it before you spray it. Be sure to primer it as well to ensure good adhesion. You should PM @clickws. He painted his himself and it came out pretty awesome. He maybe able to share some more helpful tips. Here's a link to his build thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-2-7l-3rz-fe-4x4-sr5-all-manual-build.407774/

People with s/c's see lower boost pressure with higher elevation, than what it is at sea level, per same size pulley. So there is a pressure drop.

However, your boost is atmospherically controlled, so to match that same pressure of an ~8 psi spring, it probably needed a higher pressure, I.E. more boost, to equalize.

As far as the AFR's are concerned, your post turbo sensor will read more accurately that the tailpipe one. Unless there are leaks between those two points, it shouldn't be more than a few tenths off.

So if for some reason you ecu could not adjust for the reduced air density, then yes, I can see how it would be leaner over all. Still doesn't make sense, as that should normally mean you are more rich.

Denser air + same amount of fuel = leaner.
Less dense air + same amount of fuel = richer.

    Referenced to a norm.

Thanks for the tip on the Dakota digital to correct the speedo. Next up I'm looking into a TRD supercharger

Yeah no problem. It was pretty simple to install and very easy to adjust. You'll love the truck even more with boost!

A couple non-performance additions to the truck:
Added a bed bar from LROR. I welded some mounts to bolt up a piece of unistrut to mount my bikes in the bed more securely.
