This already pretty build single cab. It was for sale on here a few months back. I’ve done a few things to it so far to kind of make it my own. Still have a few more to do as well. When I have some time I may make a thread for it.

Yeah I kept most. I used some things from the “new” truck to help put it back to stock. Plus Craigslist helped out as well. Putting a truck back to stock is almost harder work than modding it in the first place. Lol

The new one is SC I heard. Although what's the story with your old turbo setup @boostedka? Maybe I wanna twin charge

It is S/C'd currently. It has a URD pulley that is spec'd for 6psi. But at 5000ft elevation, it makes just under 4psi. I have a 58mm pulley to put on it that is supposed to make "over 8psi" according to LCE. So at my alt it will probably be around 7-7.5psi I'm guessing. I also have a meth kit I bought for it to go on with the pulley. Those are hopefully the next two things on the list to do to it.

Right now the turbo kit is just sitting in the garage. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with that. I kind of feel like I want to see how I like the S/C at higher boost first and decide if I want to put the turbo on and pull the S/C. But IDK if I will do that. If someone wanted to buy the turbo set up for the right price, I'd probably sell it.

Here's a pic I showed Zane with the EGR delete and new intake charge pipe I made for it. I also swapped over my PC'd valve cover as well.

I’ve been kicking around a small turbo (no standalone, 5lbs or so) on my 3RZ to help it push big tires around but it seems like everyone that goes that way ends up having problems and getting rid of the truck...any thoughts?

Crazy how much a few small details will clean up an engine bay

I honestly never had problems with the turbo set up. It ran great and reliable. The furthest I drove it was up to Longmont CO which is about 8ish hours from me. I wasn't really looking to sell, the other truck just came up and I always wanted a single cab.

My wife tells me that I just get bored...there may be some truth to that too. lol

Defintely. The valve cover made a big difference. Getting rid of all the restrictive devices on the intake as well as all that EGR stuff you're pulling out help out quite a bit too.
On this truck I still sent the coolant through the TB with some "custom" Autozone lines.

Awesome, I’ve been on the fence for a while and always followed your build so you just about gave me some serious cold feet. Shooting for 5-6 lbs, intercooled, and stock ecu for ease of tuning and a 50 hp bump or so

You'll be able to do that easily. I ran a 6psi spring on my truck for a while and it performed well. It made a big difference when turning the 33x12.5 MT's I had on it. Just be sure to plan everything out well beforehand and pay attention to detail when assembling. I learned a decent amount from having built a turbo'd 240sx back in the day so that helped me anticipate potential issues that can arise when going from NA to turbo. The big thing I thought about was avoiding leaks...oil, exhaust, and boost. They can be a PIA to fix once you've got everything all assembled.

Awesome, I may bug you down the line for advice. Wedding is this weekend so I’ll stop bleeding cash and be doing fun truck things again

Mine is turbo’d and I still own it. Can’t say it hasn’t caused issues but I can’t go back

The boost is addiciting, even if it doesn't always act right haha.

@boostedka I think you have a boost leak on the SC truck, the steering idle up valve should go to the vacuum port on the elbow and then to the port it's on now on the other side. It looks more like it going to boost and then to the TB. Maybe I'm wrong but I dont know where else it would pull vacuum besides the elbow port. Also do you have any clips of the sound of that intake?

Here’s a side pic of that area. It’s a little different now that I installed a boost gauge last week. The Power Steering vac line is T’d with the FPR and connects to the port on top of the S/C. I can get a more updated pic when I get home from work. How do you have yours hooked up?

It's 3" Mandrel bent. I'm using a 3" hump hose going into the Air box and a 3" to 2.75" going into the Throttle Body.

Mine is how they recommend it because that switch it basically a through connection when you're turning the wheel. So with boost going to it, it just leaks it back before the rotors. It supposed to be like this...
