In my experience, the pink tops on the stock ECU are pretty solid up to about 7-8psi of boost. When I ran mine on the dyno with that set up, their wideband was showing it running a bit lean up top at 8psi WOT. When I ran the 440's on the stock ecu, it definitely richened it up but it was too much. The truck would spool hard and once the stock ECU added more fuel, it just dumped, the AFR's went to high 10's and the truck bogged from too rich of a A/F mixture. Ideally if there was a 300-330 injector out there, that would be solid IMO for a stock ecu. You should be good with the stock pink tops, though, as long as you keep boost at no more than 8psi max. I would recommend having your cleaned before using them with a turbo at that high of boost. Especially with that many miles on them. THey get alot of carbon build up on them as well as in the intake manifold. I would also recommend pulling off the intake mani and cleaning out all the carbon build up as well. Easiest way is to spray and soak with oven cleaner, then pressure wash the shit out of it. You can even paint it while you have it off to make it look "custom" lol. If you are planning on going to an after market ECU later like a haltech or Megaquirt, then you could just get the 440's right away and have them already in and ready to be controlled by the standalone. YOu just have to know that you'll see some bogging up top. Those osidetiger ones you have linked are legit. I ran the 550 version as well with the megasquirt and had no issues with them and they are way cheaper than many other brands out there.

For a Fuel Pump, you'll definitely be good with a walbro 250. That'll be plenty of flow. I think I used a 190 or something close to that. I was the one that URD sells/sold with their 7th injector kit for the 5VZ. I had a left from a previous truck build. But definitely get a higher flowing pump. WHen I had a turbo 240sx back in the day, I didn't initially have one and the EGT's ran super hot at only 4psi of boost. ONce I dropped the new pump in, I could run 8psi on that KA motor no problem with just a fuel pressure regulator.

LMK if you have any other questions. Turbo reg cab 4x4 will be a sic build. Also, look at Kurt's build on customtacos. His is legit

Nice! That’s good to know. They didn’t use to have that size a few years back.

Why did you go with the Treadstone log manifold ?

It was the cheapest I could find at the time that was log style. Also I liked where it positioned the turbo and Westgate in the engine bay in order to route exhaust piping.

Okay I am doing this. I am starting with just the purchase of the Treadstone manifold. The whole truck is getting the rest of what it deserves after 18 years of ownership .. body work, paint, turbo….and dialed-in brakes.

My main goal is a little more power while occasionally dragging a 17ft Winnebago double axle travel trailer, with a 1985 Honda XL 350R in the back. ~5.5/6K pull and 400lb payload.

Should I start with the Treadstone manifold?

I haven't looked at 3rz parts in quite a while so I can't accurately say if there is newer manifolds out there since then. But I can say that the Treadstone manifold was great, especially for the price. The only weird thing about it was the rear most bolt is tough to get to and you can't get a socket on it. I ended up grinding down a 14mm open ended wrench to get in there and tighten it down. As long as you tighten that bolt first then all the others afterwards, you won't have any exhaust leak issues. that is using a MLS gasket.

The addition of the turbo will help a ton with towing. My turbo 3rz at 8psi was noticeably faster than the s/c 5VZ I had prior. And way more fun to drive. And got better MPG's

There’s an active 3rz/2rz turbo Facebook group that has a few fabricators pumping out solid looking manifolds.

My Treadstone recently cracked after 2 years at the wastegate flange. I'll likely buy another since I don't want to redo the downpipe and intake again. I found the bottom two nuts to be the worst. Could had to grind down a wrench to get enough of a turn to flip the wrench and get another 8th of turn. Oil filter housing is in the way too.

Pulling that much weight is a little sketch. My truck weights 5500lbs and I pulled my 3500lb Mastercraft once. Didn't have enough weight on the front end for sufficient braking. The engine didn't seem to mind an I was honestly impressed what 5psi was able to pull. My coolant temps would climb going up a grade for a minute at WOT.

I love the build quality and look of this manifold. Its a killer piece. I have two small issues with it however. It's very difficult to route an oil drain through this manifold at the stock engine tilt angle, and the wastegate is 2 90° turns off the runners, so wastegate priority isn't the best. They just take a little creativity to work around.

I have been thinking about doing something like this but using a Bosch dbw throttle body. Looks like a killer setup without having to spend 1500$

I might need to bug you for rough dimensions to see if it fits around my cage. Looks like it can handle an aftermarket PS pump. Sure is damn sexy. Thanks for the find

No problem. It does fit around the Radial Dynamics TC pump I have with the Chillkat TC pump mount . The pump needs to be swiveled up in the bracket to clear the MAF though.
