I brought the truck up to Salida, CO for the CBG Beer Fest and some MTB riding. 5 hour drive and the Truck ran great. Passing people on the 2 lane hwys was much easier, even at 7000-9000 ft elevation.

Clean truck. A Tacoma looks best with MTBs in the bed.

I couldn't agree more! There were some pretty good trails in Salida. I wish I could spend a straight week there riding everyday!

Thanks. I wasn't sure about the red. I tried it out with some Plasti to see how I liked it. That was a year ago and it's still on there so I guess it'll stay.

Ya I agree. Normally am not to much of a fan of colored badges other then black maybe but it goes well on your black truck.

Awesome coming across this. Might need to bug you for measurements about that manifold and turbo as I'd like to lower mine down like that. Looks like we both checked out kurt's build on CT.

Thanks for checking it out. I'm hoping later on to drop the diff and pan again and reweld it. It's holding great for now so I'll just wait til I have the time. It'll probably be about a 6-7 hour job.

Thanks. Yeah kurts build was very helpful as well as some of the info he gave me through pm too. I definitely like the lower mount of the turbo with that treadstone mani. Made fabbing the DP and hot side IC piping much easier. It also made it a tighter fit, though, next to the AC lines. The heat wrap I added helped out a lot with that.

I really like it so far. I have a few bugs I needed to work out once I got it up and running but it pulls pretty good now. A day and night difference from all motor. THe AFR's see to be keeping well so far with the fuel set up I'm currently running. I'd like to do something I can tune down the road but it's just not in the budget right now. Next up is a new clutch since my stock one is starting to slip under boost so I'm hoping to get that done when I get a free weekend.

The only issue I'm trouble shooting now is my brakes have lost some pressure and don't work as well all of the sudden. I was reading in another turbo thread that it may be from boost entering the brake booster from the intake manifold. I'm not sure yet but im hoping to figure it out soon. PM your number and I'll text you when I'm going up to Alb so you can check out my set up. I head up there once in a while to go MTB'ing.

Some sort of a check valve to fix this?

How is the stock ECU liking that boost? And how are your AFR's looking?

That's a good idea. I had acutally just come across that idea as well a little while ago. I'll probably stop by autozone this weekend to see if I can find an check valve that'll fit in the booster line and see if that helps. I'll post back with results.

So far it seems to be working well. In closed loop, the ECU likes to keep it in the high 13 to mid 14 range. Once I go to almost WOT and boost climbs, AFR's drop to low 11's to high 10's. I haven't had any audible pinging at any point. From what I've found in my research is the stock ECU can typically compensate for up to around 8-10psi when intercoolered, running pink top injector, and a higher flow rate fuel pump so that is what I decided to start with in this set up. I'd like to go to a megasquirt or a Haltech, but it's just not in my budget right now. Since it seems to be working well so far, i'll probably wait to see if I can find a deal on a used haltech somtime down the road.

I'll have to see if I can get one made to post up. This time of year is usually pretty busy for me so not much truck time. I'm hoping to get a my exhaust put together soon as well as a new clutch installed once I figure out which one I want to run.

Did you ever use that blank ignition bezel for a gauge?

I haven't. I bought an egt gauge for it in August but didn't install it. Now that I've been driving it for a while it seems like I may not need it. I may put something else there but for now it's just blank

Started working on replacing my clutch last night. Got the harness off, transfer case removed, and tranny unbolted. Just waiting for a buddy of mine to help me pull the trans off. I don't know if I should be concerned with the oil that seems to be slowly leaking out of my Tcase
