Received my 1" Bora Spacers and attempted to install them on the rear. The lug studs stick out too far for me to use these spacers with the Pro Comp D Slot steel wheels. So I tried cutting the lug stud without success. The Dremel cutting wheel would disintegrate after cutting through 1/4 of the lug. It's a mess.

Is anyone using 1.25" Spidertrax on the rear without having to cut their lug studs?

If yes, I'll just go ahead and order some Spidertrax and forget trying to use Bora on the rear.

Measure the length that the studs stick out from your 1" spacers. If it's 1/4" or less, you can use the Spidertrax with no problem. I haven't heard of anyone cutting the studs with any year truck, as long as they get the 1.25" spacers.

Thanks for the quick response. The overage is less than 1/4 inch.

Wait are you cutting the nuts or the studs? Your spacers should have come with low profile nuts. At least, my BORAs did.

The studs are too long and stick out. The nuts were ok. I just ordered a set of Spidertrax 1.25" for the rear. Amazon will deliver them on Thursday. Looks like the best combination without modification is 1" for the front and 1.25" for the rear.

I have BORA 1” spacers on the rear with no problem. Odd that your stock wheel studs would be too long.
BORA makes any size of spacer too, they may be willing to return them for 1.25” if you bought them new.

The 1" on the front fit perfectly without the studs sticking out past the spacer end. This may be a PreRunner thing. I've read about other members noting the lug stud length difference when attempting to run 1.25" spacers on the front. I will know in a few days when the Spidertrax set arrives.

I did tell BORA when I ordered the spacers there was a lug stud length difference. There was a three-week wait for these spacers.

    Meanwhile, the nightmare continues.

Adding pictures so other members can see what the 1" spacers look like when mounted on the rear of a 1999 model Prerunner.

The lug studs stick out beyond the spacer rim. I can't run these with the Pro Comp Series 51 D Slot steel wheels. So I will be selling a set of 1" BORA spacers.

Here's a picture of the 1" spacers mounted on the front. This is the perfect depth for the lug studs.

I'm thinking some people don't have issues with 1" in the back because some wheels have "insets" between the lug holes which clear the end of those studs. Obviously you found out that your wheels don't have those. A lot of aluminum or alloy wheels do though.

The 1.25” Bora spacers I bought came with the regular lug nuts and they stick out past the spacer. Don’t know why they didn’t send low profile lug nuts. Just going to order a set of Spidertrax for the rear on mine. At least they send the correct parts.

Yep, that's it in a nutshell. It's needing a completely flat mounting surface for the ProComp 51 Series D Slot Steel Wheels that presents the issue. Any other wheel with "insets" will not have the issue. So for running those wheels, you have two issues: 1) They rub against the caliper that requires spacers, 2) Spacers have problems with the longer lug nuts in the rear.

Let's see if after I get the Spidertrax installed to see everything works out ok. They should be delivered tomorrow afternoon.

My Spidertrax set I have fits fine. They came with the correct hardware. I just need to get a second set to install them. Wasn’t worth the money I saved buying Bora for a rear set. Should have just spent the extra on what I knew was good.

If you can’t cut them go to the parts store and get front studs and put them in the rear. They are different lengths for some reason, the rear are a bit longer than the front, atleast on my 03 they are

Good news. The Spidertrax 1.25" arrived today. Perfect fit. I want to close this thread with a conclusion and a happy ending.

This is complete a "bolt-on" solution with no lug stud cutting or swapping. The Spidertrax 1.25" compliment the 1" BORA spacers on the front. I get a little extra width on the rear. I like the way it handles. More like a G35 coupe. Ha!

The Spidertrax look to be a very well made product. They come nicely packaged. Threadlock and instructions are included
