Had a free afternoon and a craving for some bass in the tacoma, I decided to build myself a subwoofer enclosure. Seeing that I had virtually next to no room behind my rear seats and under my front seats I wanted to see if I could create something useful. The end result is a center armrest/cupholder/subwoofer enclosure that fits in really snug. Very happy with how it came out so far. All that's left is to drill out two holes on top for cupholder inserts and get some padding on it and wrap it in either mossy oak carpet or black carpet. Maybe both, haven't decided yet. I used 1/2 inch MDF boards, sealing silicon/caulk, and wood screws.

I've got the same model jigsaw, it's at least 35 years old! Probably made in the U.S.A. too.

Yes it does! Turned out pretty good. Just picked up an alpine type r 10 today of craigslist for 40 bucks. Pairing that with an alpine mrp-m500. It's coming together nicely :D

Damn - a classic jig saw - love it! I recently had a 30 yr old drill bust it's chuck. Sad day. Stuff sure was built to last, back then.

dude, i'm doing this ASAP. i've always liked a little extra bass but i use the area behind my back seats and i didn't want to hassle with under the front seats. this seems to be a great idea and very useful. where are you mounting the amp?

I just have my amp placed underneath my drivers seat. It's not mounted but it hasn't moved in like a year haha. I had a jl 12w3 in the spot behind my seat as well so I understand what you're saying haha.

I'm thinking if adding cup holders too. Just last week I had a friend place his drink on top of it and it spilled. Douchebag friends haha, reminded me that I needa get on to revamping the box.
