It's advertised as ONLY fitting the ExtraCab w/Short box. Anyone ever install it on a long box XtraCab and add a little extension?

i just put one on last year, let me check my part #
    it was a perfect fit

    part # 14597

    this won't fit yours?
i guess mine might have a different exhaust size spec since I only have one cat
if there is a difference, nevermind!

I installed a Borla #1497 on my 98 ext cab. According to Borla’s web page that is all they have for Tacomas.
I doubt that you would need any type of extension.
Might depend on what year they offered a double cab then they added a long bed designation. I’m pretty sure that the last long beds were in the mid to late 80’s 86” long.
I did have some drama lining up the flanges on the TRD header- bolt hole axis was at 11 & 5 o’clock, had to get a flange welded on the Walker cat so I could match it all up, still cost less than the OEM cat, so it was worthwhile.
    Good luck
