$100 to install. I think the shorter would have a louder growl and may have a drone at higher rpm - you could live with the growl but the drone may be the deal killer. Hard choice. The 19" has become a little louder with time but nothing the radio does not take care of. Good luck.

Thanks for the response. How does your truck sound compared to stock? Deeper? How much louder? I can’t decide between the 19” or regular 14”...

Just installed the pro xs muffler only. And I have quite a bit of drone between 2-3k rpms sounds great outside of the truck and at all other times driving. I’ll try a resonator tip soon. Hopefully it helps. Mines a 2nd gen 4.0

I just installed a Borla ProXS (19") Part #40665. $100 in labor, 30 min in and out. I wouldn't spend the money on a full catback. I think this is the best muffler option for 3rd gens, it adds just enough volume and sounds deeper overall. I think there would be some drone running the smaller 14" muffler, but to each their own.

Just recently installed my borla muffler. i wanted the whole catback system but money is a little tight right now. so i just said screw it and got the muffler. it’s really good. not to loud. no drone when driven constant. only when switching gears but besides that it’s a good deep growl and rumble. no drone on free way.

Anyone have any experience going from a TRD muffler to this Borla?

Generally happy with my TRD but wish it was just a tad bit louder and more aggressive

    Check build thread!
I think @Junkhead actually has a decent bit of experience with the borla.

i read somewhere that the borla is identical to the TRD PRO muffler.

Much better comparison without noisy tire interference.

For me I like the TRD exhaust better, not as loud. The TRD has a more refined in your face sound. Its there when you want it to be heard.

Hahahaha. Anyway... I personally would not be down to fork over what a TRD catback costs. So I can see the appeal of going with the Borla muffler if it's in the same ballpark of the TRD. So many other options for the 3.5 V6 that sound like absolute fucking garbage. Fart cans galore.

Really thinking about trying this exhaust and dumping it right before the rear axle. Thinking the 19 inch version would sound best that way and not be too loud.
