Born in the 80s crowd (previously known as the 30s thread)

I got suckered into filling in for a few days, by a guy I know, that plays with a bunch of Brazilian guys. I guess it's not so much pickup sort of speak, since it's a weekly organized thing sort of speak. One thing led to another, and they asked me if I wanted to be a "regular", so I stuck around.

It's all indoor... 6 v 6 including the keeper. I'm a keeper, or try to be or think I am, LOL.

 

Don't let this fool you, they AREN'T SUPPOSE to exist at our age! We are at the stage of pick up golf games (with carts of course), pick up bowling, pick up card games, and possibly...possibly, HALF COURT basketball games.

Yeah, stick to the games that wont tear your ACL as you play thinking you're still in high school.

I agree with this, except for the fact that I tore my oblique when I was 28 playing golf. Mind you, I have played golf my entire life since picking up a club at 3 years old. Back then (at 28) I was easily playing 50+ rounds a year and hitting the range 1-2 times a week. How my oblique wasn't stretched out or worked out enough is beyond me. Not to mention it happened to me on the 15th hole and I was 5 under for the round.

 

The 20 year olds just skate fast. The 30s- and 40s crew understands leverage haha.

It's a good time . Huge gathering up here. We have an outdoor rink at a park that's on a chiller. On average there will be about 20-30 people there. All pickup hockey . Really is a blast and open to all skill levels. Everyone just goes to have fun

 

This is the first year I haven't played in a uber competitive adult flag football league. Also playing less softball but I have started using my rower more consistently and feel like I need to start throwing around some weight again... after shoulder surgery (10/26) that is.... Also need to get back on the golf course for sure and try to get back to that single digit handicap I had shortly after high school

 

Shoulder surgery?? OUCH. No bueno.

 

Brutal, I just turned 31 and I feel like an old man, hurt my should turning my steering wheel the other day, wtf

 

Tore my labrum at work... that's why I'm able to be on TW all the time currently because I'm on light duty sitting in front of 4 computer screens instead of in the field laying pipe. after surgery Ill have another 6-9 MONTHS of recovery

 

SHIET! That sucks man. Hoping for a speedy recovery for ya then.

 

32 years old or not, this will always be funny to me and mean something completely different than what you intended...............................HAHA or at least what I think you intended!

 

Ill be alright... Just feeling ready to get back to normal shiet... sleeping even sucks right now.

Lost 4-2 cause the other team brought in a ringer for the final, and was allowed to play anyway.

Meh. If rules aren't followed, than I have no interest in playing. Think I might call it quits and not go back for the next session.

 

I swim 3 or 4 days a week and run the others.

Still get sore playing with my kids...
