Same but that was generally at the end of the school year or before Christmas break.

Ya me too, I don't think kids today get any more than I remember. Although they get more snow days than I did! I had to walk through 30 feet, up hill both ways, and would get in trouble for being late!

My son used to have days off all the time. Everytime i turned around, he had a day off for in-service for teachers. Now they just go to school 1 hour late every wednesday so they don't have to have all of these in-service days.

Crazy, my son doesn't get too many days off. Maybe one here or there. Guess its different depending on the district. Shit, I'm jealous when they get a day off. I loved days off of school! And snow day?! Sheeeiitt I'd be out in the snow all day long!

Wednesday: one of our kids goes to school at ten....my daughter is out at noon.

Monday's and Fridays - almost every other one....kids don't have fucking school! Pretty messed up how SCHOOL takes a back seat to everything else when it comes to funding. W T F HAPPENED!!!!

Our kids are gonna come out retarded and when they don't show up to work (if they even know how to go to work) on Monday or Friday or show up late Wednesday or go home early Wednesdays there gonna say "we have to work Monday and Friday and all day Wednesdays too?"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

could this partly be a result of longer school years? i remeber hearing rumors that the year would be longer, with more short breaks rather than the standard summer vacation. there are some that want them to have school 12 months of the year. I dissagree with this thinking. kids gotta have a summer to be kids. plus, what's to look forward to all year? yay!...we get a 2 week break at the end of may!

edit: and what about snow days, or so called "calamity days" around here. they only get five snow days for the entire winter...anything over has to be made up at the end of the year. I recall a couple years where i had at least 12 days off do to weather conditions...i would've been pissed if summer vacation started two weeks later.

They actually shortened the school year here. Snow days- it doesn't snow much at all here in the Willamette Valley but when theres a "threat" they almost immediatly cancel everything except life itself..LOL.
