BORREGO DESERT 3-27-10: Mud Caves, Diablo Drop Off, Devil's Slide

It is different... but I have only seen a little bit of British Columbia, Canada!

The main thing is big open skies, lack of crowds, dirt roads, interesting rock features, etc.

We will be going back to see/ revisit more of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park... and I will share the photos with you all!

 

Yeah i passed them on the way in on sunday morning, guess the xterra didnot like the mud like the taco did!

 

Any new reports on Sandstone Canyon re-opening efforts?

 

I got a question. Have you took split mountain rd to the railroad tracks to plaster city before? My buddies and I are wondering it that road is pre-runner friendly ( 2wd with diff lock).

 

I have been south along the RR tracks about halfway to Plaster City and then shot across to Superstition Mountain... but that was many many years ago... If the answer doesn't come here, try DesertUSA.com

Good to see Tri and company just made it through Diablo Drop Off and Broken Shaft Gulch post-earthquake of last Easter.

 

Thank you for that information. I can hardly wait for my next outing. I have a lot going on in my life and my truck hasn't seen dirt for a little over 6 months!

 

Yah, I hear you on that! My issue is earning enough money to live on, let alone off roading and General Grabbers for the truck! LOL

I was hoping to meet you at the Backcountry run we did a couple weeks ago... What a nice group of Tacomans! Good to meet them and see they are not any more crazy than Doug (4WD) or me! LOL

 

Ten years now since my truck was that new... Miss four wheeling as much as I used to!
