I replaced my rusty exhaust from the Y pipe back, using a Bosal system which is actually 2 pieces: a muffler and tail pipe unit which was $120 (part number is good for all 05-15 Tacoma units I believe), and a mid pipe which is unique to the wheel base depending on DCSB, regular or access cab (about another $40). I got the access cab midpipe, plus a bolt set, gasket and clamp.

Fitment was perfect. Used dish soap to get exhaust off hangers and Pb blaster on main exhaust spring bolts.

Sound is quiet and OEM like. I don't know how it will hold up over time, but cost effective for sure.

It took awhile to figure out all the exact Bosal parts needed, their guide is terrible and I did lots of searching to find stuff.

Report back in a few years. My experience with Bosal exhaust systems is that they are very rusty by about the 2nd year and muffler rots out by the 3rd year.

Reporting back. Still no rust, just light surface rust here and there. No leaks, holes or signs of corrosion. Very happy with my choice.

To be fair, I don’t daily drive it, and relocated to California from PA.

Nevertheless I’d definitely recommend Bosal if the price I got was still available

Yes the cheaper systems work and not much drone so a great option.
I put a Walker SS Quiet Flow muffler and intermediate pipe for $114 from Advance on 4 years ago and still looking good plus it has a lifetime warranty.
Painted it all high heat black after a few months on as the welds and bends had rust starting so the $10 in paint paid off.
When it does fall apart I get a new one free and an easy pull and replace as all hangers in stock position come on it and would maybe have to get a new mid pipe bolt set.
