There were some variations in plug style or overall size of the plug between part numbers, not just length of wiring. I only know this because as I would search for more part numbers I would find that some were MASSIVE in comparison to what is needed for the widebands.

Anyone looking to pick up your sensors should definitely make sure their plug is the same size and same style prior to picking it up from you. The wire length is easy to deal with.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
I just wanted to put this out there, the sensors, Bosch, Denso, NTK etc are usually not the problem but the controllers in aftermarket gauges tend to be pretty shoddy and they will run the heaters at too high of a duty cycle or will run them indefinitely when the key is on but engine isn't running. If you still find yourselves burning sensors up think about whether you do key on engine off a lot, as Innovate and AEM (AEM being slightly less shitty) will run the heaters 100% in that situation.

I can't leave anything well enough alone

I know there are massive differences from one sensor part number to the next, and there is no decoder ring length or plug style. But I thought all the 4.0 tacos used the same connector, just a perhaps different length of harness, depending on what they were sourcing from denso for that particular year (denso likes to switch up things to encourage more part numbers). I didn't think that the connector style on the truck changed, unless that was done on the 2.5 gen in 2012?

Oh wait, you are talking about the stock stuff, and not wideband stuff? That's a horse of a different color. Lol. It may have changed in 2.5 gen because that was when the EPA mandated they perform the revisions on the 1GR with the implementation of SAI and whatnot.

Without consulting with my diagrams for 2011 compared to 2012 I couldn't say for sure.

It just requires a different method of wiring to where they only be on while the engine is running. I'll bet tapping into the fuel pump relay for power is probably a prime way of wiring up the AEM's so the heater only runs while the pump is on.

Shout out to @12TRDTacoma for this thread and his advice outside the thread. My Speedhut A/FR gauge malfunctioned last week. The gauge "worked" some of the time and some of the time it didn't. When it worked, A/FR readings wandered a bit from what I was used to. When it didn't work, the gauge just sat at 8.5. My first thought was the sensor. Speedhut suggested confirming the gauge's input voltage was at least 13.5V when truck is running/charging (required for what they called sensor warmup) and, if so, sending the gauge back for testing/update before replacing the sensor. My gut told me sensor and Rob concurred, so I pulled the trigger on a new Denso #234-5136, which was the right length for my application. It works perfectly so, for anyone needing a new sensor for their Speedhut A/FR gauge, Denso #234-5136 is confirmed as compatible.
