I'll preface this review by first stating that i am just a regular blue collar worker not a writer so excuse my punctuation and grammar ahead of time.

I've want a 3rd gen tacoma since i first saw one in fall of 2015. I waited over a year to get a quicksand DCSB OR in canada, and last month i picked it up :)

In that year i did a lot of research on exactly what i wanted to do when the truck finally arrived. I must thank all TW member who took the time to answer my questions and send me pics of their rides. Ive lifted many trucks in the past, usually just using spacers and have never had a problem but wanted to do right by my truck this time. I debated a 3 or 6 inch lift but eventually settled on the 3 because i can always go back to stock...not that i would and i also don't like the drop bracket look from the front.

Well now what do i go with? King, Icon, Boss, OME? I did a tonne on research and it came down to Icon or Boss, and i have to say i probably would have gone Icon if not for Boss's New 2.5 coils and 2.5 rear. After talking with Toytec (great customer service btw, super fast) I went with the Boss 2.5 (non-resi) 2" Suspension lift kit (2.5 front coils, Deaver AAL, 2.5 rear shocks, diff drop, sway bar relocate, ubolts)Ended up costing me ($3078 Canadian, do the conversion thats cheap to u yanks ;) Also got a 4 set of Spidertrax 1.25 wheel spacers. Went with Duratrac 285/75r16 on stock OR wheels (No Trimming, no rub, removed front mud flaps for good measure)

Final hub to fender measurements are LF/RF 23" (there is more adjustment but i like a tiny little rake), LR/RR 24"

And I Dont Regret it. Over all impressions are great, love the lift love the truck. Instructions for install where a little vague, could only find instruction for 2015 tacoma, had to use the google to answer some others. City street with little crack and bumps are definitely more noticeable but big bumps off road and even speed humps are completely absorbed by this system. Love the lift, love the quality and price was on point. Would by again in a heartbeat.

    Negatives:
City driving is rougher, Lack of clear instructions, no angled shim with the add a leaf (doesn't seem to be and issue but rear diff angle is definitely changed). NUMBER 1 Complaint is the red anodized adjusting collar gets scratched using the supplied tool.

Please see all the following pics and feel free to ask any question.

    It looks familiar.

How much caster did they get you?

Thats what i thought would be an issue, but the caster didn't need adjusting after the toe was corrected and the toe way way out of spec before adjusting

Same here. Just curious if we have similar numbers. Most shops don't like to fool with the caster.

Is that what they said or is that what you are saying?

The caster(and camber)absolutely and definitely needs to be adjusted after a lift like that. If they only did a "Toe and go" alignment than you got screwed on that deal.

well I'm the journeyman mechanic and so is my buddy i did the install with. We used the new alignment machine at his shop and once toe was adjusted everything else came into spec.

So you understand the effects of low caster and also understand being in "spec" according to what the machine tells you isn't exactly ideal, correct?

Can you post the alignment specs?

Spec means nothing once you lift it and change all the geometry. As stated post up the after alignment numbers.

Maybe he doesn't have his sheet showing his numbers, mines gone, no idea what my numbers on caster and camber are. Drives straight, no pull to either side.

One good thing about the Icon setup is their spanner wrench attachment points are circles, thus minimizing the scratching...
