I have a H.U and I'm trying to decide if I either A. want to get new speakers, or b. get my rear seats back, but find a way to keep a sub.

    Are there any other options?

But would you recommend trading out my 8" bazooka for it? That thing rattles the mirrors plenty good on just about any song with good beat to it. I love it, but I want something I can put elsewhere so that it's not sitting out in the open for everyone to see, and also so that I can get the full back seats back. Because occasionally people do sit back there and taking the sub out for them to sit back there gets old really quick.

Does anyone have this behind the back seats of a double cab?
I'll be putting in a new HU and door speakers in the next couple of weeks and am looking for an amplified subwoofer that will fit without breaking the bank.
I saw one from Infinity but i don't think it will fit.

I only have all stock stuff and my rear view already rattles some, even at night, but it's with some songs not all. Is this more of a rattle where most of what you see behind you is distorted (I can still make out what is behind me with the stock system), or about the same?

its a good rattlei mean not window shaking but a worthy rattle for such a little unit, let me just say looking at how my 1200 works i dont think i would have been happy with th 600, the 1200 gives you just enough so where the car next to can here the bass with all your windows up. that alteast where i am am with the 1200, and a kenwood head unit.

At age 18, I'd agree on your choice for the 1200. At my age, the 600 rocks the cab perfectly!

Another argument for the old saying, size really doesn't matter.

nice, I agree with both. It's all dependent on your tastes. That and I am surprised at the quality from the value of the unit. I am also going to be installing a Kenwood unit (the one with the usb up front). Hopefully this can be a sticky for those that don't want to spend so much but love some quality in their products.

x2 on the sticky i was above to spend like 400 for a custom box (so i could still have room in the cab of the truck) and sub alone let alone the amp it would need, then i found this and its perfect.

DAMN $400 for a damn box? I thought this was wayy too much esp. since they charge you for a different/color match carpeting on the box.

    http://www.supercrewsound.com/commerce/product.jsp?prodId=308&catId=69

It came out to close to $200 for everything shipped to me, and that's just the stupid box. More or less I was ready to spend about $400/$450 or so just for the amp+wiring, sub and box. My taco is a daily, I already have my Blazer to play with on the weekends so I don't really need much in this one, BUT I would like it to be something other than stock.

So in recap: those that have been reading this far. What you will need for something decent or at least a noticeable difference is:

    1. Aftermarket H.U. of course you will need the dash kit, either from Metra or Scosche

    2. Boss 600 or 1200 depending on what your taste is

    3. 8g. amp wiring kit (from what I saw on Amazon, they recommended an 8g. amp wiring kit).

and you should be good to go. If you want to put in some components, I would do so, but I would keep to using Boss Audio products. They have some Chaos 6.5" comps which aren't too bad (from the ratings I have seen), and a Chaos 4 channel amp (there's a small one that does 50wx4 which should mix well with the Boss 600/1200. just my opinion though. Hopefully this coming year I get to do all this for a review.

there should be a tutorial link in this thread, I hope. There was someone else who bought the 8" or 10", but they took off the mounting feet and used velcro instead to hold it in place. I think you can search it also, should have pictures of the front seats removed as well as the carpet (but that was for something else).

Velcro works fine, what I used. In fact, Boss packed 2 ~three inch wide strips that grabbed the carpeting perfectly and holds it securely. No worries there.

do you mean how to hook them up or where to hide them away? If your hiding them its all up to you, how long you wires are, where your going to route your power cable through the firewall,...? and remember the power cable has to be on the opposite side of the vehicle as the remote and RCA cables.

It comes with a hi low right? You wouldn't have to worry about the remote wire if you don't want to.
