Boss Bass 600 Amplified SubWoofer

I'm guessing the 900 wRms 8" is really at most 100 wRms and the 1500 10" is maybe 150/200 wRms.

- To whoever has one blown out on them, broken, don't work anymore (the old design), if you could, please take that thing apart, I'm curious as to what kind of slim subwoofer design they are using.

Yeah, all the reviews I'm seeing are pretty good. I'm hoping that any issues they had on the 1200 were address on the new 1500. I think will give it a shot in the next few weeks.

 

imo, don't. chances are it's just a new look, same shitty product. I was about to have my little cousin get this for his 05 access cab, after hearing the first negative thing about this product I opted for a 6.5" Elemental Designs sub in a custom slotted box, add in the Maxxsonics MX-4 w/amp and he's done. All very inexpensive and way more worth the Boss.

 

And this all fits underneath the seat?

Thats what this thread was really all about, I want something small and out of sight in my Access Cab. I don't need/want lots of bass just enough to compliment the stock speakers. Anything else I believe would be overkill.

 

Under the passenger seat it's about 4" of room, this is when you flip that bar in the way, and the mounting depth of the E.D. 6.5" is 3.518", so 3.5". That gives you 0.5" left of space, I haven't figured out how to make the box yet. My main idea is to make it slotted, if I have money I may do one for mine and see if a sealed or slotted is better. You will get more than enough from this, it's rated to 200w rms, so all you will need is a mono block amp and your done. saves a lot of space.

Elemental Designs 6.5" is $40 plus shipping right now (choice of dual 2 or 4 ohms, 2 subs are around $97 shipped).
200w mono block amp, you can find locally in CL (I am, I found a nice Alpine ubt can't get it right now)
also since he wants to keep the stock radio, I will be using a Maxxsonics MX-4 which is $50 shipped on eBay.

 

measured again, it's roughly 4" total. So it's going to be a very tight squeeze. I plan on making the box 3.75" T x 13" W x 13.5" L w/slot port. Hopefully this will work. Also using 5/8" MDF instead of 3/4".

 

although mine failed on me, i still am going to try one more time with the 1500, it just came out yesterday. i just cant find a unit that fits under the seat that offers the same performance. there just not out there so boss is the only choice.

 

I am loving mine, I have had it in the truck for about 2 weeks. I have been trying to kill it, but it just wont die. I have pushed it hard with some NIN and some Pantera and this thing kicks pretty good for a 125.00 sub. It fills the lows well.

 

try using something else geared for sql, rock doesn't really have much low tones, imo. commercial hiphop, underground, etc. all have low tones, bet those will kill it in no time.

 

I have the Boss 600 also. My options were very limited. While it doesn't rattle my windows it does provide more than enough bass for my needs. I only have two complaints:
The remote isn't that great. From zero to almost half is the range the remote actually controls. If you twist the knob from half to full there is no change in volume or intensity.
The led light is too bright at night. I'm going to have to sharpie over it to dim it a little.

For the price and convenience I am very pleased with it so far.

Why would I do that when I dont listen to that music. I like to have my stuff sound good for what I listen to. And some NIN songs give you some good lows.

 

My remote doesnt work really, I cant tell the difference from turning it min to max. I just set it and forget it from the unit itself.
I ran my remote to that change holder that flips down by the drivers side door. The only way I see that bright LED is if i flip that thing down.
