Both bumpers and roll bar

I want to try out the following mods for my '17 Off Road, but I wanted to see if someone has gotten these already and how much they like them. I also wanted to know if they add too much weight to the truck. Also, if anybody has an LED bar on a roll bar like that, does it still create a lot of noise?

I’m not sure on weight, but I wouldn’t get any of those, I’m not into the tube bumpers.

And the roll car is a headache bar, it’ll crush with the rest of your truck in a rollover.

But, I would guess they’re a bit lighter than a full plate bumper.

Hate to break it to you but almost all the steel stuff made here is made with Chinese steel. Almost all American made steel is made from recycled scrap.

 

Yes, I agree, but there is a difference between 1/32 and 1/4 steel plate.

 

i don't know for sure but i read the description of the roll bar. it said nothing but 'high quality materials' and catch-all lines like that. no way. tell me it's 4340 chrome moly tubing or stands a static load of X or something, anything. this validated cheap junk for me... if they had something to brag about then you'd see it on that page fo sho.

 

i notice with a lot of Chinese ripoffs, they round down to the nearest mm if they can.

 

I have a body armor rear, it's strong. Taken many hits from rocks and destroyed other cars. The finish doesn't hold up to well nor is it easy to keep clean, it could definetly be better looking and fit better too

 

Steel made in America from chinese scrap in American factories with American QC =/= Chinese steel made from ore/scrap in Chinese factories with Chinese QC

 

I saw on Amazon that the little basket holds up to 150lbs, but thats all.

 

Admittedly I dig the Black Horse bar, but that's just because I dig roll bars in general.

It's purely aesthetics, so I really wouldn't be concerned about metal type. My N-Fab bed bar was rusting where the powercoat was damaged during shipping and a few of the welds had started to weep.

I wish the Black Horse bar wasn't $400+ and had better integration of how the 3rd brake light worked. Maybe I'll try and track down a second hand one at some point.
