Got my first flat in the truck. Used OEM bottle jack. It was a PITA with the lift. Any recommendations on hydraulic bottle jacks?

Hi-Lift jack will get you out of just about anything.

Otherwise, those bottle jacks harbor freight sells are pretty good.

    Lots of sail boat fuel
4x4 piece of wood. or some 2x4 that'll fit under the seat.

Otherwise any bottle jack will have a collapsed and extended length. Pick your flavor

Hi lift is only an option if you have aftermarket sliders or bumpers to use to lift it, though

Google 'exhaust jack'. That's about as compact and simple as you'll find. Beyond that, most people in the clubs I ran carried a regular 2 ton floor jack.

torin big jack lets you screw the cap up a before you even start jacking. Only problem is you have to screw it back down which takes time.

Search around in the off roading forum. There are a few companies that make extensions, although some of those kits seam really freakin expensive for what they are...

Lots of people even carry a hydro floor jack in their rigs. The aluminum ones aren't *that* heavy, but they do take up space. bottle jacks are nice, but you have to watch them as they get extended since their bases are usually pretty narrow - use a thick steel plate bolted to the base for better surface area...

Where were you jacking from though? Unless you have huge tires, the OEM jack should still reach your rear axle and your front control arms without much problem...

You don't need to jack on the frame, that's silly - even at stock height.

is a 3 ton jack the right size?

this company sells their gadgets by the each: https://safejacks.com/

their customer service said I need a 3" extension & yoke assembly. their 3 ton jack is double $$ the same one on Amazon costs.

Does your truck weigh 6k? A 2 ton jack has lifted every vehicle I've ever needed it to.

i wound just make a 4x6 block to fit the base of the jack and either mortise it so the jack fits in the block to solidly, or screw the jack to the block.
