Haha that is a good point. To everyone else's point I guess I just value discretion.

Not to thread-jack, but what is the other bracket for? Looks pretty solid.

To the left of the bottle opener?

That's a bed stiffener. They're used to keep your beds from breaking in half.

    SHABOOM!

It's a bed stiffener from total chaos. Also adds someIMAG4041.jpg additional tie down points.

Boss or client sees your keys on your desk or maybe you have to drive somewhere with them. Conclusion is this guy likes to party. Bad image to some people and it erodes trust. Really just an issue if you work in certain industries I suppose. Once again I don't think that is a fair conclusion to reach, but some people do reach them.

I always just used an edge, like the inside of the bed rail. Just hook the edge of the bottle cap up and smack the the top with your hand. Smack just right and the top comes off, too hard and you may get some foaming. This works on counter tops, tree stumps, rocks, pretty much universally wherever you can find and edge to catch the bottle cap edge. Never needed a dedicated bottle opener.

I had some buddies way back when that would open bottle tops with their teeth. I wonder how they are doing now with their teeth, lol

You must work in a different industry than i do. Almost every meeting i attend involves some type of booze.

Some people make similar decisions because one may salt/pepper their food without tasting. IMO, it's best to not work for people like that in the first place.

Never met someone whose trust could be "eroded" by a bottle opener or the impression that a person drinks an "adult beverage"(that I know of). And its probably for the best I'm not made aware of those people. There's work to do in this world and the last thing we need is some fucking pussy worrying about whether or not someone has a drink.

    Camping, forgot a opener.
Have used them on many vehicles.

It's not the thought of 'a' drink that erodes trust. it's that someone drinks often enough in nontraditional locations (places without bottle openers, ie not home, at a bar etc), that they would find value in having one on their keychain.

It potentially shows that they plan to engage in irresponsible (according to normal societal standards) behavior on a regular basis.

or just that they like imported sodas in glass bottles.

I don't even drink and I carry a bottle opener on my keychain. Never gave it a second thought other than it might be useful to have at some point. People who jump to conclusions are at fault, not the person with the opener

I work at a church and have a bottle opener on my keys. No one ever judges me. In fact, they're always asking to borrow it to open their Topo Chicos.

Yanno, if you drive a vehicle that shows it can exceed the speed limit, that COULD BE CONSTRUED to mean you're a reckless speed crazed maniac too.
I think paranoia is getting the better here. Or self importance.
