I sold the Tacoma & got me a 4Runner, couldn't be happier with the purchase & love the new vehicle. I wanted something where I could have my dogs in the back & not isolated. I also love having an SUV which is my first one. It's a 2004 SR5 with 4wd & all the goodies minus leather which I don't care that much about anyhow. It even has a locker included which means off road it's a BEAST. I have enjoyed this forum & the ppl for the most part & loved my truck, but time to move on. It fits my needs better at this time & I also cut my payments in half so it's a win/win in all aspects.

It has a center locking diff. Don't be confused that it is anywhere as good as a real rear diff like the Offroad.

Once the center locking diff is engaged it works just the same as any Tacoma 4x4.

I owne a 2004 Runner and it was my favorite vehicle to date, congrats!

Nice looking 4Runner, I think...do you have any photos that aren't at a weird angle, or cut off part of the vehicle?

I have several pics of it, the cutoff pics are from the ones I took off my side porch & could not get the whole thing in one pic.

My first Toyota was a 2005 metallic gray sport 4x4 all wheel drive with the small V8......one of the best vehicles I've ever owned. Congrats on the purchase!

A little of this and a little of that.
Congrats! I have a 2005 V8 4Runner and enjoy driving it to this day. I think the '03-'09 Runners are sharp looking vehicles.

    Good luck & enjoy!

    Do dents and scratches count?
Nice truck. I am considering trading in my wife's Honda minivan on one.

Would their be enough interior room for a family of four + dog to road trip / camp?

The minivan has really been a good vehicle for us, (bought in 09' brand new). It has 80k on the clock now with no issues.

I think there would be plenty of room for your family + dog. That is one of the reasons I got it myself & I have 2 good size dogs. For a family of 4/5 it's roomy enough with extra room in the back for pets.

My 04 4runner was one of if not my favorite vehicles I've ever owned. The truck is more practical for me and don't get me wrong I love my Tacoma.

    Dis was her.

I recently traded my 12 off road tacoma for a 2014 sr5. I loved the tacoma but I believe I like the 4 runner better. Here are pics of new and old a5e3apa2_f71b29aaccf9acbad5d7361988149fd811cbeafb.jpgasypena4_cec64d96717291447058f103c6c4fe838d4eaddb.jpg

4runners are awsome! i loved mine for 13 days... :( i really did love it, i did everthing you can do in that amount of time, went to forrest hills camping, did some climbing, hit some sand then went to a friends property out by new iberia, louisiana and played in mud.

BUT BE CAREFUL ON THE STREET, I ROLLED MINE IN LESS THAN 2 WEEKS SWERVING ON A WET ROAD, SWEAR TO GOD!

exactly what happened is i was on a small 2 lane road and the right tires started to hit the edge of the road so turned to the left and it started to have some body roll feel so i turned back to the right and it rolled on the driver side. we were going about 35mph. wish i would have had it in 4wd think i would have had more control.

super nice vehicles, just watch out in the rain

kinda a funny thing about the whole situation was we were all pretty freaked out and shackin up after we climbed out, the police officer arrived about 20 minutes later i guess, the first thing he said was, you should probably turn it off now, lol, so they are tough it was still running.

    cheers,
    disco

You guys have/had some great looking 4runners, I am happy to make the switch as well for several reasons & it fits what I need better. I did love my truck but it was time to move on. I did a lot of research on 4runners prior to getting one & must say I feel confident in the fact it will take care of me for quite a while. One of the best vehicles on the road, the quality & dependability is what brings me back to Toyota time & time again.
