I've had two 4runners, two different gens, great car, my number one SUV. I hated the '03-'09 when it came out, but it grew on me. Trying to convince my wife that she needs to get a 4runner for the "family car" in a few years, especially with the 3rd row seating option. I traded my 04 in for the tacoma because I've been dreaming of a tacoma for a long time, and I find myself needing a roofless cargo area more and more. My '04 had over 220k mile, and the only thing I ever replaced was an idler pulley. I do miss some features from the 4runner that I don't know why my "newer" tacoma doesn't have, like an actual thermostat for the ac, gas mileage readout, hidden antenna, adjustable cross bars on the roof rack, and a locking gas cover.

Nice! I just sold my 07 T4R that looked just like the one you bought, other than the rear trim (bumper cover one color, no silver). Had 144K miles and ran like new. But I wanted a Taco and did not need both. With the FJ suspension in mine, the ride was far better than my new Taco's. FJ suspensions are exact swaps on 07-09 4Runners.

My 4Runner just hit 160K & the engine sounds like it could go another 160K easily. I do have to replace the inner cv axle boots up front but that shouldn't be to bad or expensive. To me, the engine performs a bit better in the 4runner then the one in the Tacoma even though it's the same motor. No clicking noises or sounding like it needs a higher octane. It sounds great & runs smooth, transmission shifts nice & smooth as well. I'm very happy with the purchase & already debating what I want to use to level out the front with the back, the 5100's worked great on the Tacoma & even set at 2.5" gave me a good ride. Where is the best place to get those FJ Springs? I would probably get those & set the billies to 1.75" on this truck. I just want to lose the rake basically & give me better clearance up front.

Very Nice aubi! I just may have both myself in a few years once I have both my vehicles paid off. I loved the Taco, but love this 4Runner already as well so other then an open bed I'm doing without now (that's what trailers are for) I feel I gained a very nice, useful vehicle!
