WTF is this guys, OP, just find a “friendly” smogger. Go from place to place and flash a Benjamin, likely at least the 3rd guy will pass you. Then go back to same guy every two years. Done!

I might know of a friendly smogger or two in the southbay... Definitely not a cheap date.

Part of it is weight of truck. I bought my truck in Nevada and had to have a weight certificate so that they classified it under a certain tier.
Pay more or less depending how your truck is classified. I thought it was ridiculous DMV didn't keep a database of curb weight for vehicles. I took it to dump truck place and I was right over the limit for a tier. Told the lady I'd jump out and she could write that weight down. Got me under. I don't remember the tiers but only saving a few bucks haha

Haha I did that too once with an out of state truck. Went to a scale in Kearny Mesa and didn’t drive all the way into it. Lightest Tacoma ever registered in CA.

THIS. I think a lot of buyers just don't know this. Unless it's on non-op, the seller must provide you with a smog certificate no older than 90 days.

laughs. Total is prob. higher in TX.
I remember now Montana had no sales tax. Even they won't stay with that much longer though. Too easy of money.

There is a muffler shop in Dublin, where I had some work done. Maybe you should drop in talk to them. I do have the whole exhaust system o(including the Cats and O2's OEM) an 04, if you are interested but that might have been a V4.

I paid $65 + $5 county fee to register for a year (we can do double so i paid for two years total). inspections are $35ish and emissions would be another $40 if I registered in a county that required.
