I have a TRD PRO 2015 and yes, they do have rear diff, a-trac and crawl control
Im thinking of trading it for a 2016-2017 manual Taco TRD Offroad with Tech package. Will I regret it?

Why not test drive the 3rd Gen first and see if you'll like it or not for the long run.

Well mine decided on a highlander, I would have been way happier with a trail or any 4R for that matter.

I am on the other end of the spectrum....... Im thinking of trading my 16TE 4Runner on a TRD Pro Tacoma.

Need a pick up and Tacoma seems to fit the bill . My dealer has a Pro with my name on it . I will test drive the tacoma Pro and if I like it I'll probably do the deal .

Already test drive a 2016 Tacoma TRD sport. (havent test drive a manual OR which is what I want)

Regarding comfort (in the front seats) theres no much difference (if you get the tech package) other than the non-powered seats and leather like material.
The tacoma OR with tech package has: Dual Climate control, moonroof, heated seats, blind spot sensors, back up sensors, lockers, a-trac, crawl control,
My 2015 TRD Pro 4Runner does NOT have, dual climate control, moonroof, blind spot sensors, back up sensors.
But it has leather like seats and powered seats.
But the back seats comfort on the 4R beats the Tacoma by a LOT.... (More room, independent A/C vents, seats are not as upright as the Tacoma plus they recline :ohsnap:)

Ask yourself what your really looking for. If its technology related stuff then Toyota may not be your best option. If its the ability to go anywhere and have peace of mind youll get home from obscure locations then get a 2nd gen or a 4runner. I give the 3rd gen ALOT of shit but they are nice looking trucks, are very capable off road, are pretty god damn tough and eventually will get the issues ironed out. Your posts mentioned nothing about off road, or towing or anything else youd need locking diff, crawl control, A-trac and other gadgets for. I drive my 4Runner Pro as a daily but I also need it to get to and from the gold claim in the summer when the roads are a fucking ghost of a trail that turn to soup in the rain and I occasionally need to chainsaw trees out of the path. I probably would have been fine with a basic trail 4runner but fuck it, I liked the Pro. If you are looking to get a 4runner or Taco on the IDEA of needing it then seriously there is much more comfortable options out there for daily commuter or a highway vehicle. Its all about you being honest with yourself and coming to terms with your needs. IF you really do need an off road capable vehicle then decide whether a bed or not is a huge deal. Both the taco and 4runner can tow within reason and after owning a few tacomas and now a 4runner they will get you where you want to go if its off the beaten path. Good luck

Love my 4runner, but dealer is offering 37,500 to buy it from me.
Plus everytime I see Torcon's Tacoma, I feel like I need one...

There's a large difference in seating between the two models.

I got rid of my Tacoma mainly because of the front seat issues I was having. The 4Runner seats are absolutely more comfortable than the Tacoma. The seating position alone is a world of difference. The bottom cushion bolsters are slightly wider in the runner, and the bottom cushion is a little longer so there's more support under your thigh. Couple these with the power adjust-ability of seat height and cushion angle and it blows the Taco out of the water as far as comfort.

In the 4 months that I had m Tacoma I was experiencing some serious lower back pain on longer trips and in traffic. I even went to an upholstery shop to try and re-engineer the bottom cushion.

Good point Traction, thats something you dont notice on a test drive but when using it as daily driver/long trips. Thanks for pointing that out.

If the 3rd gen Taco had the 4Runner seats (front & rear) and it's 4.0L I would have bought one.
