Bought a hitch advertised as 95-04. OEM part # is a dead end.

    definitely a pre-tacoma hitch.
    It's for a toyota pickup, but what years?

    seems to be for 1984-1995 pickups

    yep, it's for 1984-1995 pickups. They all use the same hitch and this hitch does have mounting brackets identical to the one you got

    I’m pretty sure the guy used Tacoma interchangeably with Pickup. I noticed a lot of Spanish speaking people tend to mistake them.

    Sold it to a guy with a 93 4x4. He said it looked right for his frame.
