I don't see any big rust issue. The cosmetic issues are esily fixed. I'm not understanding the 7 leaf packs in the rear unless they are aftermarket springs I am sure some one else will chime in. To me, it is low miles for an 11 year old truck. I might check to see if any maintenance records could be found and wht your mechanic thinks about it.

also, not a new frame. He said that Toyata deemed it ok and undercoated it.

    Looking a lot better Carla.
Does he have any documented service records? As stated above have your mechanic go through it thoroughly.
Wondering if this guy is a member on the forum.
    Good luck with your search.

Somebody has put some love into that truck, but also, they wheeled it off road. Have it inspected very carefully and buy it if it checks out. Since it’s a ‘08, you’re clear of the head gasket issues, and since it’s a ‘08 sport, it has a real limited slip differential in the rear axle.

She's gonna believe the dealer. Let them "ship it out" get back a patch job, be out of the 30 days. And be screwed. Close the thread. We warned her

Examining the pics very closely, the only strange thing I see is the position of the alignment cams. In the 3rd pic, that right cam should be rotated 180 degrees for a lifted truck. Definitely not a deal breaker, but the alignment should be checked after the purchase.

As mentioned, 7 leaf packs in the rear, and it looks like OME rear shocks means some money was spent on the truck.

Is that one an auto or 6 speed? If 6 speed make sure you drive it some and pay very careful attention to how it shifts, particularly into 3rd and 5th, and not especially hard to get into reverse.

There’s a CT thread in the Northeast section. You may want to post it there as some other members may know about the truck.

It appears to me that the frame on the truck you are looking at now, has been repainted. The leaf springs and other areas have a lot of rust that would also be visible on the frame, if it had not been repainted. Tap the frame in areas that have been repainted to ensure it's not too corroded.

Yes, it does look repainted. Hot spots for rust on this frame is inside of the rails near the catalytic converter. Check here first, just in case someone is trying to make it look better for prospective buyers. Take a ball peen hammer and tap around for soft spots. Reference the “frame rust recall’ thread for comprehensive info.

Otherwise looks like a solid truck.
