I bought a brand new 2004 subaru WRX 13 years ago. I was 20 years old and I felt the need for speed and the ability to go snowboarding with no problems lol. 13 Years later I needed a big boy truck and something to carry my DJ equipment for gigs and allowing me to still go snowboarding haha. I love my truck. 2017 Tacoma TRD sport access cab MANUAL transmisson 4x4.

    Suck on that Subaru

    HA!

Why am I driving a Tacoma right now instead of a Subaru?

I was up in the air Subaru VS Tacoma VS VW Alltrack for a long time. Utility vs gas mileage. I have a VW TDI that I am selling back to VW over the emissions scandal, so I looked into the Alltrack. Zero manual transmissions available at the time, anywhere in the region, so the hell with that.

I went to the local subaru dealer and asked for ANY manual transmission forester or crosstrek. We walked all over the entire lot. Zero MT subarus on the lot. Went over to the Toyota dealer and they had a MT SR sitting right there.

So the reason I own a Toyota right now is almost solely because they were the only ones who would sell me a manual transmission.

After half my life driving a manual, it was SOOOOOO nice to have an automatic. Maybe because of the traffic jams or long border waits coming back from Mexico. I find rock crawling and sand driving much smoother than working a clutch and my leg isn't worn out or my clutch burned.
