I found an 05 4Runner at my buddy's dismantler that needs the entire front clip. Does anyone know if a Tacoma front end will fit on it? I want to build that as a toy and keep my truck for work. Has anyone tried it or seen one done? I've seen them done on the 3rd gen 4R with first gen tacos. The fenders seem to be pretty close and since I'm going to replace the front end anyway, I want to see about building a 'unique' truck.

Get a one piece fiberglass front clip, or three piece and make it work

Any idea of someone who makes a stock front clip or three piece? It wouldn't make much sense to make one, right? I don't plan on going long travel on it (yet). I am looking for aesthetics. I looked through the list of fabricators and couldn't find anything without bulging, flaring, or a rise.

Hey I'm super curious in your idea as well, I have a 3rd gen 4runner that was involved in a front end collision and now I'm casually searching for a new front clip from a tacoma because having made several crude measurements of apron panels and hood opening I think its possible to graft a 2nd gen tacoma front clip on.

There are definitely a few differences between the 2nd gen tacoma frame and my 3rd gen 4runner, the radiator support front portion of the clip is 35" wide and on the 4runner only 32" wide (dont quote me on measurements) but there is a commonality of the design that would allow the gap to be allowed for.

Still a bunch of tinkering and measuring to see if things like the door arc is compatible, and what happens in terms of hood length , A pillar connections etc. Comparing door arcs in photoshop it seems like the way to go would be 2nd gen front onto 3rd gen 4runner because of the differential in the arcs...

I've never done any projects like this before but after having my truck smashed into a gate I'm kind of tempted to make it one of a kind.
