Bought headlights from a TW member that are damaged. What would you do?

In looking at the pics, you can’t get a good look at the areas that are scratched. But the seller definitely appears to have misrepresented the lights. If they did not get damaged by transport (or you), they are indeed misrepresented. Those would not be “not even a spec of dirt
No tabs broken, all intact
No hardware included, just the lights
9.9/10”, as he put it.

It’s the right headlight that’s damaged. The left one is perfect

I hope the seller responds to you, but, seeing as how he has 68 post and it takes 50 to put something in BST, I wonder if he was just post padding to get there. I hope that is not the case. If you can get back in contact with him I would ask for a refund and he pay the cost to ship the lights back, since his post said 9.9/10. That is not 9.9

 

I was concerned about that exactly, unfortunately it didn’t occur to me until after I bought them. I quickly pulled the trigger so no one else snatched them up

I’m trying to find the original post where I was showing interest but I’m positive he deleted the original then relisted a few days later

 

If I was a betting man (and apparently I am when I gift money to TW strangers lol) I’m guessing he’s gonna say “they weren’t like that when I packed them” and I’ll be stuck with them. My only recourse is banking on the fact that he’s a good dude. Well I’ve definitely learned my lesson about gifting money for purchases!

 

its a little early but he can disappear and then you are left holding the bag. The good news is they are fixable install the one and then fix the other.

 

I was going to retrofit them and then install them and sell my originals. Now I may just eBay them if I get stuck with them!

The one that is obscured is not the one that’s damaged. The right headlight is the one that’s scratched. Unless he flipped both images... but then I’m going real conspiratorial

 

The seller was on TW less than 3 hours ago , just saying .

 

I’m gonna give him the benefit of the doubt for now, I’ve posted on TW at work before and then not been able to get back on for several hours. Hopefully he’ll be a man and take ownership, only time will tell though
