You might want to have someone here verify the following. I found it using the googles.

    http://wiki.answers.com/Q/There_is_an_ECT_button_on_the_Tacoma_is_it_the_same_as_on_the_Camry

ECT stands for Electronically Controlled Transmission. In the Normal mode you get better efficency and greater mileage. In the Power Mode the transmission shift points are change to allow for more power, at the expense of mileage.

According to my Tacoma 2003 Owners Manual, the function of the "ECT PWR" switch / button is located in chapter 'Operations of Instruments and Controls' under the Automatic Transmission section and is quoted as follows:

"(i) Driving in "POWER" mode (four-wheel drive models and Pre Runner)
In the "POWER" mode, the transmission is shifted up and down at a higher vehicle speed than in the " NORMAL" mode and a more powerful acceleration is achieved. To set the "POWER" mode, push in the driving patter selector button. The POWER mode indicator light comes on.

For ordinary driving, Toyota recommends using the "NORMAL" mode to improve fuel economy."

It would appear that the power mode would be used when towing something or on a difficult incline.

List of mods that you will love, that wont implode your bank account:

    -Deckplate mod (10-20$)
    -Exhaust (Flowmaster or Magnaflow) 100-225$
-Line-X Bedliner (if it already isnt done) 350-400$
    -Window Tint (100$)

Check my build, my truck is similar and I love your truck as well!

When you start wanting a lift, mud terrains and some wheels then you start spending some money!

They should fit on the rims, but you would have to do some serious trimming if you wanna stuff 33/12.5's under there, especially with 12.5's because there really wide and gona rub even harder. Considering you have stock suspension
