I bought my first Tacoma over the weekend. I'm in my 30s, and I've been wanting to get one of these first gens since I was 18. The community here helped point me in the right direction on what to be on the lookout for as a buyer. I searched hard and waited for the right one to come along. Found this 2001 4x4 Xtracab V6 with 148k miles on it just an hour from home here in NC. Truck has never seen a salty road in its life, and was driven mostly by some older folks here in NC. Not a spot of rust on the frame whatsoever, and very well maintained. It even has a fresh water pump and timing belt. I was able to get it for $8500. Very happy with my purchase.

Great deal, very nice find. It goes to show you that good things come to those who are patient in their search. I was looking for about six months until I found my 2000 SR5, and I jumped on it as soon as it was listed on the market.

    Welcome to TW! :taco:

Nice to see trucks that age in that kind of condition. Nice buy!

Good Buy, you just have to be patient while looking, and don't impulse buy the first one that comes along. I also looked for over 6 months, and missed out on a couple before I found my 03 DC V6 Auto with 80k miles on it, back in 09-10, can't remember the exact year. But welcome to TW, all you need now are deep pockets :)
