I just can't imagine a honda dealer putting the TRD stickers on after the fact, very weird & is misleading especially if one is not familiar with toyota trucks & the generations.

I remember when sellers would call less trim level trucks SR5 models (pre-tacoma) in ads. SR5 moved to Limited which is now discontinued & we got TRD OR or TRD Sports or SR5s different pkgs.

You can buy a SR5 package w/ 16" OR alloys & still have 245/75/16 Dunlops stock on them.

Bummer for the OP that sellers give the impression its a higher trim/package line. Buyer beware for sure, hope he gets something back but I wouldn't let them touch my truck.

When you speak with the people at Honda, ask them if they think it would be OK to put "Si" emblems on a Civic that isn't and sell it as such......I bet that they wouldn't be cool with that.

There all pretty top of the line being that there all awesome but i'd say the TRD SPORT is the most luxiourios one with the color matched handles and grille, and hood scoop:eek:

Here is their explanaion for the TRD stickers from the used car manager:

We bought the truck as a trade in from the original owner who told us that the truck was TRD but that he did not like the stickers so he took them off. We took him at his word, and ordered a new set of stickers for the truck. The pictures must have been taken before we put them on the truck.

They are offering to take the truck back or refund me $500. I paid 16,400. any suggestions?

If I liked the truck and it where me, I would not tempt fate. Some things are just meant to be.

Lots to come at some point. Hopefully soon.
I would take the 500 bucks IMO. It's a great truck and getting it at 16,400 is a great price. Consider it just an extra bonus that you will have 500 bucks in your back pocket. The only reason why I would suggest returning it is if you were in fact trying to buy a TRD but that does not look like the case. It’s a nice truck. Keep it and enjoy it!

It all depends on weather you would actually want to have them take the truck back and if you would really want the TRD or you just want the truck for what it has. I think you might have over paid anyways for the PreRunner package.. but thats just me.

Interesting thread. I think I'd keep the truck and take the $500.00. The truck looks real nice, and you've been driving it for a while right? If it drives good and you like it, keep it. I also would not be going back to that dealer again. Just my opinion. You have to know they are lying about the original owner saying it was a TRD. They run a check on all cars they take in trade. Shakey dealership. Feel free to post up who it was so more people can avoid them.
