I did so much searching on the internet on troubleshooting my issue. It seemed to match about 75% of other peoples problems, but not completely, so here's the issues I had, what worked, and what didn't do anything...

I ran some Seafoam through my truck on a ~75 mile road trip. Didn't drive for 7 days. Came back to it, truck would start and drive fine, but would occasionally rev to 1500, 1800, sometimes hold, sometimes bounce, but the worst was when it would bounce and hold around 4-500 RPMs. This was usually followed by it stalling out in the future after one of the times I would release the gas and clutch in. I could rev it in neutral, it would hold at a different RPM every time I released, and sometimes drop all the way to zero and stall out, which got sketchy on the highway around turns and such. During this time and prior, I had an check engine light on for my front O2 sensor.

Things I tried that didn't work...

-Replaced O2 sensor, fixed light, but didn't fix issue.
-Ran some (2) Chevron with Techron, fairly concentrated through entire tank, engine ran great with gas pedal in, but would still stall out, but maybe longer periods of better performance in between
-Cleaned MAF. Sure it didn't hurt, but didn't help
-Sprayed Carb Cleaner around vacuum hoses, no change in combustion/acceleration
-Checked every hose I could squeeze or see, no cracks.

    What DID help was...

-Cleaned the Throttle Body and IAC Valve with throttle body cleaner, pipe cleaner, gentle metal brush, rag, pick. Added a new throttle body gasket.

    Runs better than ever!!

Just wanted to share what I was faced with, what I did, and what helped. Hope it helps someone else.

    Cheers!

SUPER informative, I just hit 100,000 miles on my 2.4 manual and experienced the same problem yesterday for the first time. Went over a speed bump and all the sudden stalled out in neutral. Hasnt idled right since.
