Funny story finding your old truck for sale more or less untouched. You get to pick right back up where you left off 20 years ago! Love the flat bed.

 

Been planning a handful of changes to this truck.

We loaded it up yesterday to head to the shop for the biggest change so far. We're doing a motor swap with a 1UZ 4.0 V8 from a Lexus LS400.

Haven't updated this for way too long. It's been a slow project and we're still working on wrapping up the 1UZ swap. Before we put the motor in we replaced the starter since it's under the intake manifold, resealed the valve covers and timing cover and put in a new timing belt and water pump. It's got a new rear sump oil pan from NW Toys as well as a set of their headers. We used a brand new engine harness from Lexus V8 Engines. The motor is in and wired. We're working on the cooling and fuel system now. It needs to new fuel tank to replace the old one that's full of rust. The radiator is getting moved to the bed to free up a little room in front of the motor. This will allow us to keep the AC system. Since the driveline length changed slightly we used a rear tcase mounted cross member from Front Range Offroad to support the rear of the drivetrain. This crossmember makes it so easy. It's crazy strong and makes for much better clearance under the belly. Can't wait to get this thing back soon and on the road/trail again.
